speaking of hunting/dean's belief that civilians inhabit an inherently shallower more static level of reality. just remembered what he did to Lisa Braeden & it strikes me all over again how deeply violent it is to cut out and tear away a year of someone's life as though they won't be able to sense the hollow. but it doesn't occur to him that she would sense the hollow or value the experiences she had with him bc he believes her life when he's not on screen is just one long textureless dream in which linear time does not apply. post-s5 he is delivered to her so he can wait out the rest of his days away from the machinations of the plot, skip to the end of the story via vague domestic montage. as an action hero waiting to be martyred Dean spends most of his life up to that point in the present tense but to settle down with a woman is like using that woman as a shortcut to the Future bc he knows the camera will just skim over all the dull intricacies of domestic life and invisible montage will deliver him to death. it just doesn't occur to him that she will continue to exist linearly after he writes her out of his story.

it’s very fun for me that dean has a recurring character love interest from each of the main cosmological planes: lisa (earth), cas (heaven), crowley (hell), and benny (purgatory)

i reeeaaallly like 2 imagine that when lisa and dean met, she was about 20-22 and he was 16, probably lying about being 17 going on 18,,, like she knew it was a taboo sort of thing they had going on and it just drew her in more, meanwhile he’s giddy to be with such a desirable adult woman
