Do you know how there's three kinds of "the" in german? For male nouns, for female nouns, and for ones that aren't either. Now, 'photograph' is female in german, but it's shorter cousin, photo, is not. How weird is that
Der, die, das, yeah I know :D We have them in Polish, too! And you know what’s funny? There are words like, idk, Schrank, which in German is “der Schrank” but in Polish we call it “ta szafa” which is basically “die Schrank” I used to fuck them up all the time because the things that were female nouns in Polish were, for example, male in German :D
