Perhaps it just wasn't his day.
Looking around, Hayato noticed he... frankly had no idea where in the world he was, which aggravated him more than anything. He was supposed to be well-cultured on these things if he was going to become any sort of diplomat in the future, yet he couldn't recognize a single landmark or pick up on a clue of some sort! The only thing that saved his pride was the fact that he supposed he could give himself some slack since he had traveled through the Dragon's Gate, an act that was purely an accident.
...Okay, maybe it wasn't an accident. It was pretty difficulty to justify how you managed to run through a portal without knowing about it, and it wasn't like he could blame it on something like a mount. He had just been perhaps a bit too overzealous in his plan to find some rare herbs, and his feet had moved before his mind could fully process just how stupid this plan was.
Sighing, he took a gander around. Sand. Lots and lots of sand. He couldn't say he was overly pleased, but he found himself at least able to navigate the area without too much difficulty, thankfully avoiding having to trudge his feet through the grains as if some great force was weighing him down.
He held his doubts that any sort of herb would be here that would be useful to him. Perhaps it would be better just to find his way back. How long had he been traveling aimlessly? And for what? A sign of vegetation that was honestly nearer to where he originally had popped up?
It was only when he spotted a woman of pale complexion and dark hair that he had switched his focus on heading back to staying put. His eyes grew wide for a moment before he furrowed his brow. He started making his way towards her, a disapproving frown on his face as he called out to her.
As he neared, his confidence wavered upon looking at her attire, but the resemblance was still as clear as day. There was a nagging feeling that perhaps this wasn't right, but he pressed on anyway.
"I won't ask you about your clothes, but if you were going to be leaving on your own, I would have appreciated if you had told me beforehand." He sighed, lowering his voice, "Just because you're a grown woman now doesn't mean I won't be worried if you stray."
