Aside from his throwing knives, Shiv has a HUGE knife collection...like, could line the walls of his living room and still have some leftover to display on his dresser huge. Butterfly knives, pocketknives, daggers, bowie knives, hidden blades, stilleto knives, almost everything...except kitchen knives. He only has a few kitchen knives.
Shiv is modelled after Greasers, so I'm inclined to believe he comes from a working class background.
Building on that, I'd like to think he's the child of Greek immigrants.
He's only half lying when he says he wakes up with his hair like that...he uses magic to keep it in place. It even keeps him from getting helmet hair.
The Archmother accidentally offended him when one of her offers to him was to build his kingdom on the bodies of his enemies...he just saw it as her being one of the many people who refuse to believe he's changed. The Hidden King was a lot smarter in this regard, and Shiv is more likely to join him.
Shiv's worst nightmare is Gray Talon losing faith in him...the first person to see the good in him and give him a second chance turning on him would absolutely devastate him.
Do not give this man a high five. He sometimes forgets that his right arm is prosthetic and smacks too hard. He once broke someone's bone.
You don't step on his boots. Ever.
The only thing worse you can do than stepping on his boots is damage his motorcycle. You put one scratch on that thing, it BETTER have either been because of something that was a matter of life or death, or a huge accident that you're willing to pay for the repairs on. If you did it on purpose, you are screwed.
