Tim Krabbé’s The Rider has been republished by Bloomsbury Publishing in a stunning hardback edition.
The Bloomsbury press release says the following. Originally published in Holland in 1978 where it became an instant hit, selling over 100,000 copies, The Rider has since been translated into ten languages, with Bloomsbury the first to publish in English. The Guardian has said that ‘nothing better is ever likely to be written on the subjective experience of cycle-racing.’ Charting a gripping 137-kilometre race from the narrator’s perspective, it is a loving, imaginative and passionate tribute to the art of cycle racing that is best read at a break-neck pace.
We’re proud that Tim ‘The Rider’ Krabbé still rides with us come rain and come shine. We keep the wheels turning!
