ddlc headcanon: in an AU where sayori doesn't die, the club encourages yuri to make a blog where she posts her poems and she does it ^_^

Monika:

Uses ao3 but doesn't have an account, she only lurks

Natsuki:

Reads on wattpad and occasionally writes oneshots on her tumblr blog

Yuri:

Writes and reads on ao3 and tumblr, definitely a whump enthusiast

Sayori

Steals from Monika the most because Monika is the most tolerant of this trait and lets her steal as much as she wants, so much so that soon she ends up not even having to ask for it, it's just an expected dynamic that if Monika gets food Sayori will have some. Honestly Monika likes it, to her it's like a reminder that Sayori feels comfortable enough with her as a friend to do that with her, and honestly she likes sharing food with people more than eating it on her own

Yuri lets Sayori too but she has more boundaries around it, as long as Sayori always asks first and it's only a little bit, she usually lets her try whatever she has. Yuri quite likes being generous and sharing but she also really likes to just have her food to herself

Natsuki is the one who grumbles about it, (based on that one scene in the game) she likes getting Sayori snacks and stuff but if Sayori steals her food it's on sight. At first Sayori saw this as just a fun little joking around back and forth, just nabbing little bits of her food cuz it seemed like Natsuki was just exaggerating being pissed which she partially was but then one day Natsuki revealed that she doesn't always get much money for food so Sayori's food stealing was partially genuinely annoying, which she didn't reveal earlier because she wasn't ready to be that vulnerable yet + didn't wanna make Sayori feel bad but wow Sayori felt SOOOO bad upon hearing this info, started apologising profusely immediately, lay awake that night in a guilt induced spiral and bought Natsuki food the next day. Natsuki just insisted it was fine and it wasn't her fault

Probably felt bad about eating the others food for a while after that and was much more careful about asking once she did

Monika encouraged her again by telling Sayori she found that habit comforting

I think equally Sayori would want to share her food with other people tho, if she eats something really good she now has a mission to get the rest of them to try a bite of it to get their verdict!

Getting together:

-After the events of the Self Love side story they start becoming really close friends and only start to realise or fully feel their feelings once they start to feel quite comfortable around each other which then turns the two of them into a mess all over again

-I think Yuri would be the first to confess in some way cuz she tends to sometimes get caught up in the heat of her emotions, she impulsively blurts out her feelings and then instantly panics and regrets it and runs the fuck away leaving Natsuki to process what just happen. Then Natsuki would have to suck up her own anxieties and reach out to her and return the same, lowkey I think with maybe a cute little poem or something. Both of them probably needing some encouragement from Monika & Sayori

-they would be extremely nervous in their relationship at first and go at a slow pace with everything but both get pretty comfortable with each other again quicker than they expect since they had already become good friends prior

general relationship hcs:

-In public Natsuki seems like the more dominant person in the relationship tending to take the lead in social settings and call the shots on things they do but in private Yuri is the one who tends to initiate shows of physical affection or romantic moments with Natsuki bashfully being strung along

-for dates they have a system of switching between who chooses the activity, usually it's something related to one of their interests they nerd out about and take it as a chance to learn more about each other, as they get more in sync with each other they tend to accommodate for the other more and more on their own decisions though

-they argue like a couple that's been married for 30 years, but even if they look pissed they are having the time of their life, they're both opinionated and love debating with each other so once they're comfortable with their differences it becomes fun

They are also extremely competitive in any game they play which they love to do, they're both total shit-talkers in their own styles

-when both of them are feeling calmer one of their favourite activities to do together is just read their own separate books in close proximity to each other, maybe occasionally throwing out a few comments on what they're reading (especially from Natsuki) but mostly just chilling in their completely different worlds together

-Natsuki loves making Yuri little desserts all the time and Yuri could not be happier to eat every single one. She started doing it as a way to return favours from her but it slowly became just a random thing she would do whenever because she loves seeing Yuri swoon and eat it like it's the first cupcake she's ever been given every time. She becomes extremely familiar with Yuri's taste in desserts

-If Natsuki is ever feeling off in anyone Yuri always offers to make her some kind of warm drink, at first it was just tea but Natsuki isn't a fan of most teas so Yuri started getting better at making hot chocolates and stuff like that or even some sweeter teas that she herself wouldn't drink but that's okay

-Natsuki often hates to go places alone and unless it's a place Yuri's very uncomfortable with going too Yuri is more than happy to accompany her anywhere, Natsuki usually gets her a gift or a treat or something afterwards as a thanks

-Both of them really dislike PDA, they feel like they're being watched easily so they tend to not be physically affectionate when they're in public outside of holding hands but once they're on their own they certainly are

-speaking of which when they're cuddling or something Yuri loves to absentmindedly gently fidget with Natsuki's hair or just drag her fingers on her arm or something

-Yuri gets very intense eye contact on Natsuki just admiring her and Natsuki cannot fuckin handle it

-Once they live together, Natsuki is the designated cook and Yuri is the designated cleaner, they both like routine and would probably make something like a chore chart

-Both of them like waking up early to enjoy how peaceful the morning is before the day fully starts so they tend to have a nice morning together and it's probably the time when they get the sappiest with each other

This is not the same for the nighttime and Natsuki usually goes to bed first but not before yelling at Yuri to not go to bed so late. Which Yuri will not obey, Natsuki is in a battle to fix Yuri's mess of a sleep schedule

-they're both Madoka Magica fans, they watched it together in a quest to find something both of them enjoy. Natsuki can understand the dark twist on magical girls since being a fan of that genre and loves the dynamics between the characters. Yuri loves how psychologically horrifying and tragic the whole story is and how dark the worldbuilding is she could write an essay on it. Natsuki found it for them because she'd heard about it but was a little scared to watch it on her own, Yuri was quite hesitant to try it at first but quickly became a huge fan and was locked in for it, and after the initial unease Natsuki was too

-One time Yuri asked Natsuki if she would love her as a worm and Natsuki said no because she thought it was a dumb hypothetical and Yuri took the greatest offense at this. After a heated debate and a pouting Yuri, Natsuki yielded and said yes

-When Natsuki talks bad about herself it's usually in a very vulnerable moment for her and Yuri is very gentle and sweet and delicate with her coaxing her out of her spiral. When Yuri talks bad about herself which happens anytime and anywhere Natsuki tells her and the demons in her head to shut the fuck up and that that's a total bullshit lie. To both of their own surprise, the method usually works well for both of them

-they both adapted some of their behaviours to be more similar to each other over time. Natsuki began wording things more softly or giving more clarification to make sure Yuri doesn't accidentally take it the wrong way. And Yuri took up her habit of stating her opinions more boldly and confidently as she got more comfortable, and teasing Natsuki in return. Their personalities gradually become more balanced around each other

she/her, unlabeled but has definitely had a crush on monika at some point . likes kidcore and lolita style. listens to laufey, jack stauber, beabadoobee, and clairo. everything she owns is covered in stickers or pins. had dyslexia and mc helps her study because she struggles with it so much. refuses to be medicated and will cry if you suggest it

yuri:

any pronouns, bisexual. has bpd, hypersexuality and, autism, and hates when people think hypersexuality is a sexuality. very goth but is too scared to actually dress that way. volunteers a shit ton, especially at the library. an avid AO3 reader and writer and is terrified of any of the other girls findings her wlw dead dover do not read fics. has a crush on natsuki and hates themself for it

natsuki:

she/they, lesbian with comphet. has OCD and has developed lack of interest ARFID from her dad not feeding her. has a bit of a crush on yuri but refuses to admit it because her dad is homophobic. listens to vocaliod and other “cringe” music. atheist but still prays when she wants her dad to love them. wants to dress cute core but is too insecure since her dad hates it. she collects tons of hair clips and squishes. watches mlp but would never let anyone know

Monika: chicken scratcher!! Her lines aren’t confident at ALL, and her form’s always a little fucked up because she focuses too much on be little details and not enough on the general form of the object. She also only really does still life, but she never thinks it’s close enough, and it stresses her out. She’d probably benefit from learning to paint and learning how to block out her drawings, but oh well.

Sayori: doodles tbh, in canon Id argue she doodles kinda absent mindedly, she doodles a lot but she never really draws. But assuming she actually likes to draw/wants to draw, I think she’d be really good at it. Like she studies all the concepts and is really into visual storytelling, she LOVES color theory (like what colors create what tone for the drawing) and shape theory. She particularly likes to create stories through the designs of the characters she makes. She’s largely doing oc pieces but she can do other stuff.

Yuri: in canon I don’t think she draws at all, she picked it up when she was younger but she wasn’t very good (cuz she was a beginner) and doesn’t like to reflect on those times. However also assuming she likes/wants to draw, she draws realistically and is only ever drawing fan art. Despite her drawing realistically, her anatomy isn’t very good, and she HATES doing faces and hands. I feel like she’s self taught and refuses to learn the basics because she’s only really drawing as a hobby. She also does that graphite shading thing beginners do, you know? Like where they put some graphite on the page and smear it for shading, but it never really looks good but she thinks it makes it look more realistic. Yeah i think she’d does that because I used to do that. I feel like Yuri’s art looks REALLY good to people who don’t draw, but to professionals her art is…it’s definitely from a beginner if you understand.

Natsuki: I feel like she draws fanart a lot, but specially in the style of the manga she’s reading, or if not in a “cutesy anime” style. You know the ones. Like early 2000s specifically. Either that style OR (ironically) kinda the style the actual game is in (though not the shading, she cell shades, and obviously more amature). I feel like Natsuki ALSO didn’t study the basics, but despite that, she still understands them (she accidentally taught herself them), and her art is actually less amature than Yuri’s, and as time goes on, Yuri actually realizes that. I also feel like she just draws her characters out in the void, and despises backgrounds.
