#dcbb 2020

I’m super excited to finally post my art contribution to the 2020 DeanCasBigBang! I’ve been working on this with the lovely @castielle-cumberbabe who wrote a truly wonderful canon-fic with some WINGS (you know I had to get in on that) I know there’s a lot of bad/stressful stuff going on right now, so maybe a little Destiel-flavoured boost will help! You won’t be disappointed; it was a true pleasure to be able to illustrate for this!!

When Castiel wakes up in a strange world married to Dean, he thinks it may be Chuck showing him a version of the future. As days pass he quickly learns he’s trapped there with a version of Dean similar to the real one, but jarringly different at the same time. Once he escapes, Cas grapples with the consequences of keeping what he saw a secret or telling Dean the truth.

Art for Half a Heart to Keep by @diminuel

As a part of this year's DCBB, I had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with Diminuel once again!

The first story I illustrated in my life was one of hers, back in 2018. My art has changed a lot since then, but the thing that has not changed is how much I enjoy working with her. Thank you for the patience and kind words Steffi, I can only hope I was able to bring your ideas alive C:

The art was made using different mediums including pencils, ink, watercolors, and Photoshop CC.

The fic that accompanies these illustrations is beautiful. Diminuel is not only a very talented artist but an amazing writer too! You should make yourself a favor and go read it right now!

I love a good AU, so I jumped at the chance to draw some cowboys 🤠

This art is for @expectingtofly’s fantastic fic, Wicked Game, as part of this year’s @deancasbigbang! This is my first time doing dcbb, I wanted to get in on it while the show was still airing, and I’m glad I did cuz I had a lot of fun! Check out the fic y’all, it’s really really good (I promise)

Down The Narrow Rocky Road

Every summer, Dean has to face Hell on Earth: two weeks at a secluded, tucked-away cottage in the middle of Nowhere, Maine. This year’s vacation’s cherry on top is the family friends coming along - John Winchester’s boss Chuck and his son Castiel, Dean’s enemy number one. Dean’s hated the guy since a fatal birthday party five years ago. The last thing he needs before going off to college is to fall in love with him - though the fact that Castiel is suddenly hot and interesting doesn’t help matters at all. Turns out two weeks of Hell on Earth will be extra Hell-ish this year.

My art for this years DCBB for the fic “Down The Narrow Rocky Road” by @d-claiborne I finally got around to drawing some sunset/nighttime mood pictures which I’m very happy about! Go read that sweet fic right now ~  

Well, today is the day. To tide you over until the episode tonight, why not take a crack at reading this beautiful masterpiece, “Basic Lessons in First-Aid, Magical or Otherwise” by stuffy_j.

I was so hesitant to enter DCBB because I so so so often flake on finishing projects. But! alas, here we are with the proof I stuck with it! I found so much joy in getting to create these works for such a vividly descriptive piece!

Thanks a billion @stuffy-j for putting up with all my late night inquiries, congrats on this major accomplishment!

(Shoutout too to my art beta who had no idea who Dean and Castiel are but gave me some awesome encouragement and critique on my work and helped me reach the finish line! )
