EARTH 2003: Two-Face, The Great Equalizer

A few weeks after Bane's attack on the Executioners, Two-Face and The Tally Man were held up in the hospital for weeks, and Harvey Dent was finally allowed some mental quiet for once in 5 years, as if he'd been going a hundred miles per hour since his maiming at the hands of Black Mask. After a 4-week-long coma that led to Harvey and Two-Face fighting a mental war that felt like it lasted eons, the shock of waking up made something snap inside them, though neither could tell if it was a snap of something breaking or becoming whole again. But no one else ever truly notices what happens inside the mind. The only thing they did notice was when Two-Face and Tally Man vanished from their hospital beds in the dead of night without a trace.

For a few weeks, almost nothing was heard from either, with half the criminal population praying that they either moved on to another city or just killed each other in some crazy vigilante suicide pact. Hey, the scum of Gotham comes up with some weird stories. But everyone soon got their answer when The Executioners resurfaced. Except they weren't called The Executioners anymore. Now, they're The Equalizers, a paramilitary cult of ex cops, soldiers, etc, who are dedicated to balancing the scales of Justice in Gotham City. But unlike what they used to be, The Equalizers' entire method of fighting crime holds on Two-Face's coin flip for the day.

If the coin lands Good-Heads up, Harvey Dent and The Equalizers fight crime with the non-lethal efficiency of Batman himself, but with the numbers, weaponry, and tactical discipline to make them a true force to be reckoned with. But if the coin lands Bad-Heads up, Two-Face and The Equalizers reign terror on the vilest scum of Gotham, bombing drug labs and laying siege to Mob Dinner meetings with the might of a battalion. And once the coin decides, there is no room for interpretation or compromise. Good-Heads or Bad-Heads is final, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
