Apollo and Midnighter Deserve Their Own Post For Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈❤️

Still currently the best canonically together gay male couple in DC comics. DC actually tried with this relationship and you can tell. They deserve more recognition and DC should include their characters in more DC storylines ❤️

apollo's problem is that he's superman but he's on a team with hawkgirl and God. and to make problems interesting for God, you have to establish that they're too much for superman, so apollo gets his ass kicked immediately and is out of the fight. and to make problems interesting for hawkgirl, you can't let superman solve them instantaneously, so he gets kryptonited and is kept out of the fight. the result is that too many writers make him look like a useless chump.

his other problem is that he's dating gay batman and keeps getting fridged because of it.

his final problem is that once, early on, a character said that he looked a bit like Richard Gere, so too many artists have tried to draw him looking like Richard Gere and failed either because they're not good at drawing real humans in comic form, or because Richard Gere has irl looked increasingly weird over time.
