How's Olive Karkat and Gold Kanaya's relationship? What's different about them in the bloodswap?
tbh not much probably. i think they have a book club lol
mostly i think the biggest differences are kanaya being the bearer of the Psychic Migraines now and karkat being... a little less high-strung and anxious? And maybe a little more willing to hang out with his friends irl as a result. he's probably still kind of an asshole though.
kanaya has a chaise lounge to collapse upon dramatically when she's feeling gross. a little bit of romanticized whimsy to cope with the chronic pain u know.
anyway sometimes when shes having a hard time with the more physically demanding tasks she likes to do (gardening/sewing/etc.) she gets karkat to come over and read some deeply mid YA supernatural romance to her since i imagine thats most of the overlap in their preferred genres.
he acts like he is being tortured into it whenever the suggestion comes up but honestly half the time its his idea since nobody else wants to hear what he has to say about his blorbos and kanaya is willing to humor him.
and tbh beyond just hanging out with a friend and riffing on bad romantasy fic i think she probably also enjoys that their impromptu book club sessions can make her feel like she's still getting something done when a migraine is otherwise taking her out of commission.
all this to say i think they're still friends, and maybe even closer friends than in canon.
