I heard the news and I’ve queued up all the Bridgens, Peglar, and Young quotes I have to post once an hour until they run out to celebrate. I don’t have any Orren ones, but if anyone wants to submit one, I’m all ears…
Is this a fitting tribute? Nope. But I run an incorrect quotes blog where I take the piss out of the fictionalised versions of dead sailors. This is the best I can do.
Honestly I don’t have anything funny, or new, or interesting to say about the Peglar, Orren, Young, and Bridgens discovery. I just think it’s beautiful that so many people still know their names and that their names are finally being returned to the rightful body.

I was involved in writing the biographical sections of the papers, and was the genealogist who traced the families of the sailors, and reached out to living collateral descendants to inform them of the study and invite them to participate.
Something very funny about the two earliest deaths in The Terror tv show (Orren and Young) being identified at the same time AND they both made it just as far as Fitzjames before dying. Sometimes you pick two random guys to die first and you pick wrong. Woops.
David Young’s third molars (aka his WISDOM TEETH) hadn’t erupted when he passed :(
