TL;DR: Karkat accidentally catfishes Dave.

♡once dave got a hermit crab for karkat and tried to play it off like it had always been there and dave just couldn't remeber its name

♡this was the one time karkat wasn't having it and he told dave Mayor CandyCorn was their grub/human child/whatever and how dare he get the most perfect little earth animal without warning him

♡later that week Dave found an expensive pair of headphones, a nice drawing tablet, and a very sweet, very angry note that was two pages long that basically said what an awesome bf he was and how he was going to save this for his birthday but he got him A FUCKING CRAB???!??! ♡although karkat has never directly admitted getting the stuff for him and dave never directly admitted to getting kk a crab, they never let each other live it down
