I've been working on this for awhile, and he's finally done, my Date Everything self-insert!
He, (or I, I don't know, because it's literally me) is Jacques's firstmate, who has been left abandoned on his ship and forced into life on "sea." Unlike Jacques, he doesn't crave adventure and dangerous waters, which leads him to feel as if he doesn't belong. He develops a deep respect for Jacques for guiding him through this new life, maybe a bit more than just plain "respect." Though despite his deep admiration for the captain, he still wants to get out the bottle.
That's where you, the player, comes in to help him.
His route would reward you with empathy points, as it involves: Getting over his fear of abandonment after being left in Jacques's bottle for far longer than he had been promised, allowing him to accept his repressed feelings for Jacques, and finally getting over his fear of rejection.
In summary: Two tiny pirate men who are both very gay for eachother yet refuse to admit it and refuse to be vulnerable. They swear it's professional. It is not.
Also his background music/theme is Tempest by Aurelio Voltaire.
Hope you enjoy him. Or me. I thought too hard about this.
Anyway here's my selfship again hehe. I'LL TRY NOT TO DRAW TOO MUCH BUT ITS ALL I'M THINKING OF. I'll try to draw more Jacques alone or like, anything else! I can technically do what I want because its my blog but like... I don't wanna be annoying.
What should our shipname be?? Paperboat?? Because my insert is a [love] note in a bottle and is in fact made of paper? I think that would go so hard. HEHEHEHE.
Anyway if you liked my self insert oc ship or whatever, enjoy...

Hello Chief! Would it be alright to request a romantic letter from my f/o Betty from Date Everything? Been having nightmares and bouts of insomnia so what better way to fight the night terrors than a letter from your bed-wife? Thank you in advance if the request is fulfilled. Have an amazing day!
**If anyone is an expert on sleeping it's the posthound for sure. It's actually criminal to disturb a puppy from getting a good night's sleep, as we all know. But when sleep doesn't come as easily, it's definitely nice to have someone to soothe you to dreamland. Your letter arrives with the sleepy posthound, who with a big yawn and a "woof!" announces your delivery!**
Hey, sweetheart,
I know the nights have been rough lately. I can hear it in the way you breathe when sleep won’t come, in the way your eyes look tired even when you try to laugh it off. Nightmares have a nasty habit of pretending they’re bigger than they really are—but I want you to know something right away: you’re safe right now. You’re here. And I’m with you.
When you wake up in the dark, heart racing, don’t be mad at yourself for it. Your mind is just trying to protect you the only way it knows how, even if it gets a little overzealous. It doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you care deeply, and that kind of heart sometimes needs extra gentleness.
If sleep won’t cooperate, that’s okay. We don’t have to force it. We can sit together in the quiet—count breaths, talk about nothing, or just exist side by side until the tension loosens its grip. Rest doesn’t always mean sleep; sometimes it just means not being alone with your thoughts.
I wish I could reach into your dreams and smooth the sharp edges for you. Since I can’t, I’ll do the next best thing: remind you, again and again, that you’re loved. That you’re not broken for struggling. That every night you get through—even the sleepless ones—is proof of your resilience.
So when the darkness presses in, think of my voice. Think of my hand in yours, warm and steady. I’m not going anywhere. We’ll face the nights together, one slow, patient moment at a time.
Get some rest when you can, my dear. And if you can’t—let me keep you company.
