Ben is a Japanese-American member of the B.P.R.D. who has the unique ability to turn into a giant jaguar. When they were first casting the part for the 2019 Hellboy movie they originally cast Ed Skrein, a white, English actor. Thankfully Ed thought better of it and dropped out to allow someone of Asian heritage to portray the role.
