FN-2437 stood at attention in the room he’d been escorted to, waiting for the Supreme Leader. Only he had known it, but this was the third incident that day. Only one incident had actually went reported and that mess was out of his hands. If he was honest with himself, he was the lucky one in that situation.
It had started with a fitful’s night sleep. He had hopped those would be over by now. They had subsided for a few days but what had happened last night didn’t seem like any improvement. Something had happened because he spent so much time repairing the damage in the room that it nearly made him late for drills. Drills had been the only time that day that he’d been at peace. He could contain the chaos in his own room. Everywhere else was becoming an increasingly more difficult problem.
After drills he’d been assigned detail in one of the main hanger areas. He’d been caught by another Stormtrooper away from his post. The worrying thing to him there was that he didn’t actually remember how he’d gotten that close to a TIE/FO but it didn’t matter more than the chaos that ensued next. Why he was near the fighter baffled him even more. Even if he did have the urge to leave in one it would have never happened. One, he didn’t know how to fly one and Two, he had no clearance to get the thing to start.
In an attempt to pacify the other Stormtrooper he’d tried to explain and talk him down from his thrown out questions. He couldn’t blame him for what he did. FN-2437 would have commed it in as well. He was doing exactly what he should have done and he paid a consequence for it. It wasn’t even clear to him what had happened. It was over in what seemed like a fraction of a second. In his attempt to silence the trooper he had gotten into a physical altercation, but he never actually remembered laying hand on him. The last thing he knew was the trooper had gone off the edge and smashed into 3 large weapons cashes below. Luckily the drop wasn’t lethal.
The incident must have been confusing for others too because he’d known it didn’t go through many others before he’d found himself in this room. Usually, if he was going to be punished or interrogated it would have been handled by another officer or Captain Phasma herself. But here he was, waiting to be talked to by someone much higher up the chain.
The trooper glanced at his armored wrist. His armor has been replaced since the saber cut through it but his wrist was taking more time to heal. It was bandaged underneath. The squeeze of it was a constant reminder. The pain from it had subsided but it served well in reminding him that he was defective. He had hoped that the reprogramming had done away with all of this, but the impulses still came. Some of the changes he did notice were unsettling and that’s why he’d already formulated a plan before The Supreme Leader got here.
When he did make his presence known he saluted and went down to a knee right away. It was best to start from here, all things considered. Each time he was with him that feeling would press against his ribcage. It was the same that made his pulse spike and his breathing quicken. He didn’t know what his leader was doing with him but it felt like he had him on a leash that was losing links by the second.
He would assure him of his loyalty. He had to.
