(I recently had to change a minor typo, and upon spotting it, I found one more regarding Ail's pointed ears, a plot point that will happen when she 'breaks' in a later novel. She's peaceable and doesn't hold a grudge long after being tutored by her spooky teacher on 'what' to hunt. AKA, demons. She's level-headed, collected, and quick to find a non-violent solution. She 'puts up' with 'Revenant' (Daniel Stroud) but finds him full of himself.
A cross-dressing Scottish dragon who once guarded the Tomb Tower, discovering the world and herself and gaining the courage to show 'who' she really is under all the furs and bravado.
A dragonic prince who's been trapped in a dungeon for over a year so his demonic twin could feed upon him to steal his abilities.
(And yes, the Scots dragon and the prince are a thing.)
A ghost-hunting inventor who is clever and picks up on all the details around him a bit too well.
A teenage vigilante who's having a mid-life crisis early from being shot by his own parents, subjected to BS from various adults, and now realizing that his 'view' may be a bit skewed. Tie in the fact he is suffering from a repressed memory that's cobbled together all sorts of demented poltergeists, and you have a recipe for disaster.
-A scythe-wielding ancient Sumerian being trapped in a tower alone for an eternity who HATES clocks with a burning passion.

Examples.
John Stroud VS Jack Fenton
John Stroud is characterized by his intelligence and quick wit, which allow him to navigate complex situations effectively. He's willing to stop ghost-hunting for the greater good and understands what needs to be done to mend relationships, particularly with Damian Quinn Masters. Unfortunately, he loathes 'Strange' and suspects him of being something harmful to Amityville after the ghost orchestrated a 'scare' tactic three years prior to 'boot them' off Rupert Magnus's estate. (Shaking one would-be ghost hunter overhead to dislodge her weapons.) He exhibits empathy and understanding as he prioritizes personal connections over his own pursuits....granted, he may create some issues for himself and others within the first book from stubborn pride. He's physically fit and imposing. All of the prosthetics created in the clinic are by his design.
Jack Fenton is meanwhile- Well, just Jack. He's dense, not very complex, and super over-enthusiastic like a golden retriever but built like a literal block.
Damian Quinn Masters VS Vlad Masters.
Damian Quinn Masters embodies the tragic hero archetype. He's let Daniel perceive him as a villain because of his resignation and impending mortality. Rather than actively pursuing power (CAUSE EW SOURCE MATERIAL), Damian gives up on the game entirely. Unfortunately, his illness is only getting worse, heightening the urgency of his quest to mend broken relationships and confront the looming threats that seek to possess him. I modeled him after the exact OPPOSITE moral compass of Vlad Masters. We're talking about doing good until you're a walking corpse level of commitment. One such pitfall? He made a wish with a gen called Nasir, who warned him there would be consequences, and he still gladly did so for his wife's mental (and physical) wellbeing. Basically, ERASING himself from her memory.
While both characters are shaped by their pasts and their choices, Vlad’s villainy is more about external ambition and control, whereas Damian’s journey focuses on internal struggle, sacrifice, and the desire for redemption.
If these two were in a bar, Damian would kick Vlad's ass for crimes against humanity. In fact, I'm pretty sure Damian would consider Vlad Masters on the same tier as Leon Martinez ( the leader of a crime syndicate who just so happens to own the decommissioned group of mercenaries known as GHUL.).
HE LOATHES: FOOTBALL. FACIAL HAIR. Politicians and Hospitals.
He's brash, ballsy, and embodies John Constantine to a rather hilarious degree.
He doesn't get along with Maddie Stroud. To him, she's pigheaded, and she's lost any common sense upon obsessing over her, and her husbands ghost hunting hobbies. He has notably flirted with her during attempts at getting shot, but nothing much save for her rage resulted from that. On that note, he did jab Daniel about how he would be a better 'parent' than John on principle alone, and that's led to a HUGGGGGGEEEE misunderstanding when paired with his jabs about John's capabilities and Daniel's mother complaining about the apparent flirting.
Rune Abrams VS Sam Manson
Rune, for starters, is a witch. She's brash and doesn't take accountability for her actions or the results, often guilting Daniel into scenarios he's heavily uncomfortable with, or that put her at odds with Malcolm ( their soft-spoken and very level-headed accomplice). She dyes her hair with a bright stop sign red hue, knowing it makes Daniel uncomfortable. She talks about 'spell ingredients' and 'creates theories' based on incantations and 'checks' she can do on her surroundings. Her hands are covered in burns from spell use, and she wears gloves to cover them. She serves as a misdirection, and although she does try to keep a moral hierarchy in her beliefs, it's biased and quick to be written over by the newest piece of lore or occult news. In this sense, she stands against everything Sam Manson has represented in the OG show.
*POSSIBLE SPOILER* One example is when she entered an abandoned theater where a ravenous vampire was holding paranormal shows and stole his spell book, leading to Revenant trying to return it and ending up on the menu. The teen was erratic for weeks, suffered harvesting for spell ingredients, and was being sent to retrieve 'artifacts' for his hungry 'Ringmaster'.
Sam Manson, meanwhile, is Danny Fenton's best friend and love interest. She is fiercely loyal and often serves as his moral compass. Sam is passionate about environmental issues and social justice, showcasing her activist spirit. Her confidence and independence set her apart; she isn't afraid to challenge norms or stand up for her beliefs. Sam’s unique blend of strength, empathy, and individuality makes her essential to the show's dynamics and themes.
Enten VS Clockwork
Enten represents a more tragic relationship with time. Having sealed away the demon king Slaugh, which subsequently trapped him in the Tower of Babel, he feels lost and separated from reality and progress.
HE HATES CLOCKS AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. One formed from belief hundreds of years ago on top of the tower where he cannot reach it, and it persists, ringing at irregular times to remind him of the passage of time despite the broken chairs and pieces of rock he tries shoving into the few exposed gears by the stairwell to break them.
Unlike Clockwork, who manages and manipulates timelines with purpose, Enten exists in a state of stagnation, feeling trapped in an endless present without the ability to change what has already occurred.
Bonus: DP's Clockwork operates from a place of authority and wisdom, whereas Enten’s guilt and isolation drive him to lie to Revenant on multiple occasions.
Then there's the fact that Enten is ALIVE and has slowly been consuming his life force to persist. He is slowly and very painfully starving to death but is kept alive by the Nether. He is stuck viewing copper scrying mirrors and pulling ghosts from the earth and back into the Nether so they don't fade to cycle, but he has never had anyone there to save him.
Clockwork is seen as an omniscient, all-knowing figure. He manipulates events and presents himself as a wise, 'sage-like' figure who knows everything but communicates in riddles, leaving others confused and frustrated while he snips or oversees various timelines.
Enten is the polar opposite of Clockwork's character and personality in all these ways. ( ADD IN THE HORRIFIC BODY GORE OF A 'MORE HUMAN' BODY SHIFTING FORMS EVERY FEW MINUTES AND YOU HAVE A RECIPE FOR A 'NOT KID FRIENDLY' DARK PARODY.)
Ernesto Perez vs Ernesto Montez
Both were the previous mayors of their respective cities, but Ernesto Perez is a cutthroat with a dyed comb-over and a grudge. With his dealings in 'illegal' ventures called into question, he isn't above 'getting rid' of the competition. He's cold, calculating, and primarily driven by self-interest, having sold off most of Amityville to GHUL and outside land investors during their economic downturn for a quick buck. He's technically gray-haired but 'fixes' his mustache with a mascara tube. He's a main character rather than a side character. A villain for Damian's 'Bond'- Granted, a dim-witted one being paid off by GHUL.
Ernesto Montez, meanwhile, is from the original DP show and is seen as a standard, law-abiding politician with some wants to preserve his place in office but not nearly to the extent of his parodied counterpart. He has no lines beyond the one episode (Public Enemies) and only appears as a background character in two episodes after that.
You can't make a kid's cartoon more kiddish when parodying, so everything is gory, dark, and realistic with ADULT humor and rationality.
