While I do have some problems with Seanchan, I’m actually grateful that Jordan introduced them to the series. It’s refreshing to see a horrible society which benefits from slavery and abuses its people not to working with the Dark One (they even fought on the opposite end on the final battle). It shows that not all evil people are linked and neither all of them have the same goals.
Still, those who benefit from Seanchan’s cruel practises are as bad as dark friends. Just a different type of awful.
We're getting to see the different things the Dark One promised to each Darkfriend with the Liandrin and Suroth preview! They do not share the same vision at all and I love it!

The darkfriend social seems like an 5/10 overall. Pros: cool complimentary black masks for disguise, free wine, get to meet Ishamael while he’s doing his whole over the top Ba'alzamon routine, fancy atmosphere. Cons: everyone in attendance is a total asshole, no food, myrddraal show up to make everyone uncomfortable.
Hello, I wonder if can help. On the WoT show, is that Child of the Light questioner/torturer a dark friend, because what he is spouting sounds like what a dark friend might do or is he just a crazy zealot who cannot see his own bloody hypocrisy? Some people need to die, him especially. Where are Ramsey’s hounds, when you need them.

Eamon Valda in the books is really a villain and as you said a hypocrite. And his PoVs if I remember correctly are the worst (my memory of the last books is a bit hazy).
He is no darkfriend though although he commits just about every other sin that is there to commit. He is really yikes.
The actor is superb, I know I will hate the character even more. lol.
It's one of the strengths of WoT that there are villains who are not darkfriends and they are all creepy.
I'm not sure about the show though. They might merge some villains and there are darkfriends among the questioners.
I don't want to spoil where the book character ends. It's pretty satisfying though. 😁
