mmmm my enjoyment of dark ships relies entirely on how the narrative of the media presents, I'm not talking about whether or not it's canon, but whether or not they can make it interesting. I really love super rich storytelling, so I'll ship any kind of dark ship if it meets that criteria.

anyway, what you probably meant, actual ships - nu carnival: rin x eiden (technically selfcest but rin calls him brother, so), visual prison: jack x robin and a bunch from darker media that I will shamelessly gatekeep 'cause I like being one of the only fans of something

I need to make a long post that's essentially whump surrounding the concept of Illumi being a self-hating MAP and incestophile/incestuous in regards to Killua. I also like to imagine it's something Hisoka knows about and never ever lets him live down. Hisoka is an attempted enabler but Illumi has such strong convictions that it is goes nowhere. But Illumi absolutely needs to take his frustrations out in some form. Hence his fucked up and convoluted relationship with Hisoka.

I also like to imagine Illumi being forced to confront the fact that one of the reasons he tries so hard to get Killua away from Gon isn't because of actually wanting to protect Killua but is rather out of jealousy and it destroys him to realize he's messing with his sweet little brother's life because of things that he struggles to cope with.
