Dear Gus & Magnus,

We had dinner at the Baileys' tonight. When it was time for dessert, JD covered his cone with chocolate shell from the bottle. Magnus giggled uncontrollably and said, "Whoa! THAT IS TOO MUCH CHOCOLATE, MY FRIEND!"

Dear Gus & Magnus,

Tonight we had Gus's birthday party at the Jack Stephens Center. These kids went wild for two hours on the court, which was an awesome experience for them, but also for the parents, I think. We had a solid parents vs kids game -- parents won.

We brought Papa John's, and Nene made Gus the same basketball cake she made me when I celebrated my sixth birthday. Except that I only had Will & John at my party, so it was much smaller.

Gus said it was the best birthday of his life, which made me and Mom happy.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

You both went home with the Calhouns again after school until I could get home from work. Then we all went to Waldo's Chicken for a dinner with the Calhouns and the Baileys before the winter storms descend on us and we're all trapped in the houses for a few days.

I love seeing you all interact so comfortably within the tribe.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

I had a holiday mixer with the Downtown Little Rock Partnership, then we all went to Waldo's Chicken with the Baileys and Calhouns. All the kids had a ball playing pool, playing video games, and trying to win stuffed animals with the claw machine. It was a good time. These are our people right now.
