#daphne's threads

Daphne being a representative for her family presented with both poise and grace, she curtsied to the king when she was presented and then to his hand, offering both a charming smile that her family was known for. "Thank you for hosting me at court, your graces" she didn't know yet when or if she would go back to High Garden, she suspected her mother wanted her to marry before she left.

Needless to say she was not in the mood for any of his games, so when she found him staring at her across the table she spoke before she could stop herself "see something you like or are you intent on burning a hole through my chest?" Normally more poised, she looked up at him, meeting his single gaze.

She had only just received her dance card when she was presented to their host and she curtsied "Thank you for having us, you have a beautiful home" she spoke politely, ever sweet and poised. The perfect Dimond.

"Then why did you not ask me to court ?! Why did you stand by in silence while I nearly married the Duke?!" Daphne knew it wasn't lady like to scream, but he was frustrating her, he had all season to court her, all season to make his feelings known and he waited until she was nearly engaged to tell her this. "I wanted you to court me-- I wanted to be your wife. . . . Why could you have not spoken up sooner?"

"That would be something you will have to speak to my father and our king about, my dragon-- but I take no issues with being your bride" Daphne almost purred as he ran his fingers along her skin, bright blue eyes met his as they spoke. She would wed him tomorrow if he asked it of her, she had been his since the day they met and that would not be soon changed. "So you are aware as I am your, you are mine."

"With a statement like that I half expect you to put a collar on me" she couldn't help the smile that tugged on her lips as she looked at the Prince. Falling in love with him was not something she came to Kings Landing to do, and yet here she was and it was getting harder and harder to stay proper the more time she spent with him. Eventually something would have to give and they would need to talk about where they went from here, but for now her hands rested lightly against his chest "how do you plan to do that, my prince?"

"How did you and Kara possibly come from the same family as her?" Daphne asked as she looked over her goblet to the head table and the Queen mother. She spent much of the feasts as of late either with Tyrion or Kara, sometimes with her cousins-- but they didn't take as much pride in judging as the Imp did, making him her favorite. She wasn't even sure what this feast was for, her grandmother just told her to be dressed and downstairs the morning of. "Also-- who dresses her and how much do they hate her?" The red they had her in tonight was too muted to do anything for her, it looked more like clay then her house colors. She was usually not this mean, unless people deserved it and tonight she was particularly annoyed.

She always assumed Penelope would marry into their family-- but alas her brother was either blond to her affections or simply did not care and both irritated her a bit.
