Danyel Al Ghul was meant to be a source of conflict, an obstacle, competition for the true heir of the Leagued of Assasins. Instead he was a weakness, a liability, a weed in an otherwise perfect garden.
The decision to get rid of him was easy, the plan to do so required tact. Talia, along with Damien, had gone weak for the boy, though she had been the same with the heir he at least had some use to him.
While Talia and Damien were out on a mission, Danyel was to be sent for training at an unusable pool of Lazarus water. It was located on top of a snowy moutan side while the color of the pool was more potent and pure then the others, nothing seemed to ever return after being submerged.
This would be the final leniency that would be given to Danyel, should he fail he will be thrown into the pool. He was to climb to the top of the mountain and survive an ambush of 7 trained shadows.
The test wasn't one he was meant to pass, it was a to show what came from weakness. He climbed. With freezing hands and frozen feet. Muscles straining and exhausted, but he'd made it to the top of the mountain.
Shivering, numb from the cold, and exhausted the 4 and a half year old collapsed at the edge of the glowing green pool of Lazarus water. Before the ambush could even begin lighting struck, his scream pierced the silence and fell back into the green glowing water.
Upon hearing the report all his grandfather did was mutter pathetic. When informed by her father's men his mother had responded it was unfortunate, she appeared unbothered.
But 2 weeks later she had wisked away the heir, and put him under the protection of the Bat of Gotham. The father of her 2 children, though he was only informed of 1.
Damien Al Ghul...Damien Wayne was an angry and hateful child.
He was angry that Danyel would never get to be as openly affectionate as Greyson. He was angry that Danyel could never sit peacefully and read like Tod. He was angry that Danyle could not tinker with projects like Drake. He was angry that Danyel never got to be loud and bold like brown. He was angry Danyel never got to find peace like Cain. He was angry that Danyel never got brought home like Thomas.
He hated that he wasn't there to protect Danyel, his brother. He hated that he was unable to openly speak of Danyel. He hated that he had to keep all his gifts and tokens meant for Danyle hidden in a box.
But mostly he was grieving in silence, they didn't know, couldn't know of Danyel. It been a year already since Danyel's passing, since he's been living with Father. It's been a year and it hurts just as bad as when he'd first gotten the news.
He had demanded that he be allowed to go back to the mountain, to search the water for any fragment of his brother. Perhaps to prove to himself it was true or to try and save him somehow, he's not sure.
But instead his mother had taken him to Gotham, instructed him to never speak of Danyel again. Then given him to his father to be trained.
It's been a year since the King received and unexpected guest and he's been informed by clockwork it was time for his alternate to be sent back home.
In a mountain top, cover in snow, a pool of glowing green water begins to bubble. A small white haired child emerges from the waters with glowing green eyes.
