Winter 08/09: If The Fates Allow

James reaches some conclusions about his true feelings and emotions and makes some firm decisions, not without consequences for others. And with Christmas fast approaching, will all be merry?

It was becoming more and more of a chore managing Moda Bella these days. Especially now that there were more important things occupying Giada’s mind. She was already busying herself up front sorting through applications of potential new manger candidates when the front door opened, and the bell sounded. “Oh, hello there Dante.” Giada greeted him, peering up from her paperwork with a raised brow and a smile she typically reserved for costumers. However, something told her he wasn’t simply here to pick out racy lingerie for a new plaything. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

She swore she was going the right way. But, when she turned a corner Ayla was disappointed to see that this was the same way she had gone like 20 minutes ago. She recognized the string of lights someone had pulled down with the one missing a bulb. "Shit." Ayla cursed to herself. Her breath huffed out in the chilly autumn air and she pulled the jacket that went with her costume up more over her shoulders. "Guess I got to try the other way." Again, she was speaking to herself. But soon she'd no longer be alone. Turning to the right with determination, she ran smack into the very firm body of someone else. "Sorry about that!" Her apology came quick, happy she didn't have a drink to spill in the mix. But as she took in the other, a smile of recognition grew on her face. "Hey! I know you. Dante, right?" The man she always seemed to run into while out who never missed a chance to hit on her. Who she remembered making out with the last time.

Giada had been in and out of St. John's for what seemed like days now, her plate full and nearly overflowing. She had been managing the delicate balancing act between Serpent council member and concerned friend, tending to business matters, doing damage control, and of course keeping up appearances at the hospital and looking out for her follow Serpents. Someone had to.

"You seem better today." She approached Dante like she would a pit viper unsure exactly what type of reaction she was going to get from him. Trauma, snark, something more volatile, something less? While she was fortunate enough to have escaped the attack rather easily, having already been on her way outside for some air when it began, others like Dante weren't so lucky.
