October-November 2022: Lisa Marie Presley involvement in Scientologist Danny Masterson trial. Tony Ortega reports she was ready to testify about Scientology obstruction of justice, however the judge decides that belongs in the on-going civil lawsuit against the Church methods of harassment, and removes her from the witness list for the trial
The Prosecution subpoenaed Lisa after a message from her, on December 2014 (after she left Scientology) to one of the victims (Jane Doe 1) surfaced:
“OMG I looked for you and found you..... I am DYING to talk to you.... So much has happened and changed and I need to start by APOLOGIZING for contributing in any way those years ago for helping anyone who tried to quiet you about what you had gone through... Those were crazy times with crazy people and not one of them remain in my life now... Please write me back. so we can talk. L.”
The Prosecution believed Scientology ordered Lisa to prevent the victim from reporting the crime to the police back in 2004. However, since the church of Scientology was not on trial, Lisa would not be testifying to a crime committed by the church, but one that she had taken part in. She was given immunity, and gave her testimony to a DA investigator, where she confirmed Scientology did instruct her to contact Jane Doe 1, calm things down, and report back to the church. Lisa was ready to testify in court against Scientology, however, since Danny Masterson wasn’t on trial for obstruction of justice, Judge Olmedo removed Lisa from the witness list.
