Noah couldn’t believe he was almost done with packing up Aunt Mae’s house. Two years ago if someone told him it would take two years to clean up this house, he wouldn’t believe it. Noah couldn’t believe he was dreading when the project was done. Frostford had a special place in his heart and he didn’t want his stay to end, but his Dad was clear. Aunt Mae’s house needed to be finished so it could be sold or Mr. Simmons would come down to Alabama personally to make sure it was done. Noah didn’t want that to happen, so he stepped up his motivation of sorting through Mae’s things and cleaning the house.Â
There was a time Noah thought he would just buy the place from his Dad, but the house needed a lot more work than Noah could afford, so that daydream quickly died. He thought about looking for another place to rent, possibly, but with his income from Joe’s and his pension, he could never afford to live somewhere by himself. All the people he had got to know in Frostford weren’t looking for a roommate either, plus, the male didn’t want to impose on anyone, so his only option was to go live with his parents in Montana until he figured out something else to do.
Noah was working on the last couple of boxes in the living room having lost track of where Daniel was. He had came over earlier to help pack things up, but Noah was in his own little world wondering what he was going to do next, he didn’t know where the other went. Noah tucked some hair behind his ears. “Dan? Where are you? I’m almost done in here.” He wrote DONATION in big letters on the box then tapped it shut. “Come on, we can grab some lunch once we’re finished.”
