i used normal pencils (6b, 3b and hb) to draw this. i'm currently experimenting with a shading technique for faces where i make quite visible lines going in the direction their facial muscles are to give them a bit more depth. this probably isn't the best execution of it (he looks either wrinkly or sinewy), but i think it's fun to try stuff out every once in a while :) if anyone has advice on stuff i could improve on, please share! i know the drawing isn't a perfect likeness (something i'm still working on, it's surprisingly hard to draw a face that is exactly the same as the one you want to draw, and not just a similar and acceptable looking one). if you know how to draw stubble well please please give me advice on how to. i don't know just how well it turned out but gosh the stubble was an absolute pain to draw! also the drawing somehow looks better in real life than on camera, not quite sure how that works, but you'll just have to trust me on that ;)
