HELLO!!! This is my first time prompting anyone so PLEASE don't feel pressured to do my prompt but I'm DESPERATE for more of your Anthony's Twin Daniel AU!! Could we get Anthony's reaction/how he found out and Ian and Daniel pretty pretty please?? đĽşđđ
Ian & Anthony + Ian/Daniel - twin au
--
Ian and Anthony sit together at the park near Anthonyâs house. Itâs a familiar hangout for the two of them wandering aimlessly around Carmichael and always seemingly finding themselves at the park. They are seated near the top of the structure, legs dangling off the edge.
âCan I tell you something?â Ian asks suddenly, breaking the shell of silence that had built around them.
âYou can tell me anything, dude,â Anthony says, âweâre best friends.â
Ian smiles and plays with the ragged edge of his jacket sleeve.
âSince weâre best friends can you promise you wonât likeâŚfreak out or get pissed off?â
Anthony tilts his head in confusion. âWhy would I get pissed off?â
Ian bites his lip, looks nervous, and his nerves make some kick up in Anthony too. When Ian said he had to tell him something Anthony hadnât thought it might be bad news, that it might be something that he wouldnât want to hear.
âWhat is it, Ian? You got a girlfriend or something? Is it Kayla? I donât have a crush on her anymore, dude.â
Ian shakes his head, hair slipping into his eyes. âItâs not Kayla.â
âSo, you do have a girlfriend,â Anthony teases, âwho is it? Have you finally kissed someone?â
Ianâs face is growing redder and redder by the second and Anthony only gets more curious.
âCome on, tell me. You said you would.â
âIâm trying!â Ian says, âyou keep guessing.â
âAlright, alright. Iâll be quiet. JustâŚare you dating someone?â
Ian blushes a deeper shade of red and he nods and then shrugs like he isnât sure.
âKinda?â
Anthony lifts his hand for a high five and Ian warily high fives him.
âSo, who is it?â
âUmâŚitâsâŚitâs Daniel.â
âDanielle?â Anthony says, humming, âI donât know her.â
âNo, not Danielle. ItâsâŚDanielâŚyour Daniel.â
Anthony blinks. He looks at Ian and he waits for some punchline to come. He waits, but Ian isnât laughing, and Anthony doesnât understand what weird sort of joke or prank this is because it isnât even funny, just really disturbing.
âMy twin brother?â
Ian nods, his face now beet red.
âIan, this isnât funny anymore.â
Ian swallows thickly. âItâs notâŚnot a joke.â
Then, itâs like it all hits Anthony at once and he stands up, like his reflexes sprung into action before he could even think or control his movement. Ian is looking at him in alarm, in fear, and the look makes Anthony feel sick.
âYouâreâŚyouâre gay?â
Ian shrinks in on himself, seems to let his hoodie swallow him up.
âI donât know.â
âWell, youâre dating my brother! Thatâs pretty gay, Ian!â Anthony snaps.
Now, Ian jumps to his feet, and he looks around.
âDude! Shut up! Itâs a secret⌠I just told you because youâre my best friend and- â
âAnd because youâre dating my twin brother? He looks just like me, dude! Thatâs sick! You think heâs hot? If you think heâs hot, then you think- â
âStop!â Ian pleads, âAnthony, please stop. I donât know what happened. I justâŚlast time I spent the night you fell asleep, and Daniel and I started talkingâŚâ
âI donât want to hear this,â Anthony says, a sweat breaking out across his skin. He canât believe this. Ian. His best friend and DanielâŚhis twin brother? Daniel who didnât like video games or the same shows and movies as he and Ian. Daniel dressed weirdly and had a bookshelf full of books that no one in their grade had ever heard of. Daniel who hangs out with the kids that write poetry and take art classes.
Why would Ian like Daniel? Why would Ian like guys at all?
âPlease,â Ian pleads, âyou promised not to get mad.â
âBefore I knew you were dating my brother! Did you guys kiss?â
Ian flushes a darker shade, and Anthony feels weird, feels sick. Maybe itâs not just the fact that Ian hadnât told him, but that Daniel hadnât either. He doesnât know how long this has been going on, but he didnât have a clue that Daniel liked boys or that he even had an interest in Ian. He and Daniel werenât as close as they used to be and didnât get along most of the timeâŚbut Ian is his best friend and Ian didnât tell him⌠at least until now.
âIâm sorry,â Ian says, his tone pathetic and sad.
Anthony feels pangs of guilt shoot through him.
Heâs sixteen and just found out his best friend and his twin brother are an item. He thinks heâs allowed to be a little shocked.
âYou donât have to apologize to him,â a familiar voice says from the ground at the base of the playground structure. Anthony looks down to see Daniel there. âYou didnât do anything wrong, Ian.â
Anthony looks at Ian. âDid you invite him?â
âNo!â Ian says.
âHe told me he was planning on telling you and I decided to come to make sure Ian was okay. He didnât know.â
âWhy wouldnât Ian be okay?â Anthony snaps.
Daniel shrugs. âDidnât know how youâd take the news.â
An anger burns bright in Anthonyâs belly. âIâd never hurt, Ian!â
âBut youâd call him gay like itâs an insult.â
Anthony blinks, that anger in him but he looks at Ian and then Daniel, and he feels so sick, so over it. He jumps down off the playground structure, feet aching from the landing. Daniel stands firm like he thinks Anthony might come at him, but he doesnât.
Anthony starts walking, walking away from them, from his twin and his best friend because he doesnât know what to say or how to feel. His walking turns into running and Anthony doesnât stop until heâs in his own front yard, lungs burning and tears in his eyes.
