Do you think that the significant cultural differences between Farley's background in the tundra of the Lakelands in a heavily Scarlet-Guard-affiliated community and Shade's Capital River Valley heritage affected their relationship? If so, how? How do you think Mr. and Mrs. Barrow reacted when they learned that their recently dead son had been involved with a woman they barely knew from a foreign country that Mr. Barrow lost a leg and a lung fighting, and that she was now pregnant with his child?
We didn't get much about cultural differences between the Lakelands and Norta, but I imagine their status as Reds united them more than anything. I imagine Farley had more hope than Shade did, so she sometimes doubted him which led to a fight or two. They never lasted long tho, as their goals were still the same, and neither were too proud to apologize.
They must've been quite shocked, and a bit wary, but the Lakelanders he fought were only following orders, after all. It was the Silver generals they held responsible. All that mattered was taking care of Shade's child, and they trusted him to have picked a worthy mother. However, they definitely would've fought her if she insisted on raising Clara on her own.
