I think everyone could’ve ended up much more well adjusted.

The Drex plot includes the construction of the Omega Weapon, so without him, Danger Force wouldn’t exist as we know them and Henry wouldn’t have his forcefield. Jasper would still have the ability to sleepfight, but it might’ve taken longer to awaken. Charlotte probably wouldn’t have her cybernetics either, or at least not so soon and if she did, they’d be mostly for cosmetic purposes.

However, I still believe certain conflicts would’ve arisen. Seeing as his friends were leaving, even if they all went their separate ways for college and not all to Dystopia, I assume that Henry would still feel some type of way about being left behind in Swellview. He was already on the verge of quitting, after all. Maybe he’d stick it out and go to Swellview U (idfk I made it up) or a different local college. But as long as he’s fighting crime, it would be the same schtick. Trying to balance two lives and inevitably having to pick one.

Or, alternatively, he would go with Charlotte. While I attribute his reaction in-series to a part of his panic attack, he still seemed upset by the idea of Charlotte going to the city alone. In this timeline, it’s hard to say what would happen when Charlotte finishes her gap year though. There’s so much that can happen between. And without Jasper (assuming that HarBERD is an on-campus deal and not online) they’re missing a key part of the trio and being two sides of the same coin would catch up to them.

Henry might go to a community college there, since it’s the cheapest option (out of state, not to mention out of COUNTRY tuition would be brutal) and end up fighting crime anyway. There’s a lot of outcomes here.

1) He gets powers from the radioactive lake mentioned in the Dystopia Paper. Could be a forcefield, could be entirely different. Blackout can literally break down his physical form into smoke and reform safely, so anything can happen. I do wonder if he would keep the KD persona since KD never “died” here. Or would he take it with him and use that as a platform to get bank and sign a contract with a hero agency?

2) Henry underestimates how gritty it is, and gets killed in action, effectively sending Charlotte off the deep end because she spent a decade devoted to keeping this dude alive just for him to get murked less than a year in. Charlotte villain arc?

3) Henry is on some batman shit where he just uses gadgets, the gap year goes well and when Charlotte goes to Harvard, thats when he decides to either come back home for a bit or try living in another town. Maybe he takes up that offer in Neighborville. Maybe he goes to Florida to be closer to Piper, who knows. I doubt he’d live with his parents again.

I also just realized as I’m writing this that if KD never “died” in the crash, Missy would have no reason to try and summon him back, so that nixes the whole plot of the movie. But, I can still see her being inspired by a living KD and trying to become a hero anyway. Maybe they’d meet eventually with a healthier dynamic. Henry wouldn’t be as traumatized, and maybe he wouldn’t throw himself so easily into danger since he doesn’t have a forcefield here. He can’t just fling himself half across the city or tank an attack head-on like he would in the main canon, so he’d be at least somewhat less cocky. Especially if he’s living solo with Charlotte without Ray’s constant influence.

Speaking of Ray, he wouldn’t be as mature as he is in some moments of DF. I havent finished Danger Force, but aside from the ending, Ray seems a BIT more careful this time around? While he attempted to treat Henry as an equal (which should NOT have been the case), he keeps the DF kids at more of a distance. Keeps that mentor/mentee line stronger. But this is probably due to seeing his last sidekick WILLINGLY “die” for him and the city, and was probably horrified at the idea of leading these kids down a similar path.

As many mistakes as Ray made, it has to be gut-ripping to see this kid (because Ray probably still sees the naive 13 yr old Henry in the back of his mind when he sees Henry as he is now) sacrifice himself so easily because he (Henry) feels like he had nothing else to live for/die for. He’d accepted it much too quickly, and that disturbed Ray. So of course, he (Ray) would operate differently in the future.

But if Drex never happened, there’s no blimp. No Omega Weapon, and thus, no Danger Force as we know them. Maybe they’d find their way back into the narrative eventually, but Ray wouldn’t be forced to develop so quickly and have to find a way to keep a bunch of superpowered kids safe from themselves and villains alike. Maybe he’d still be like how he was in season 5 and keep that sort of bachelor mindset. Again, that’d probably lead to some fallout between Henry and Ray eventually. Or, they’d come to the mutual agreement to split off. With both of them in one small city/town and with Henry becoming more experienced, they would eventually run out of villains to fight. And as we’ve seen, Ray gets BORED and Henry can’t just chill. So I could see one or the other leaving. Still likely to be Henry because bro does NOT want to live in Swellview forever.

[*BONUS NOTE TYPED BELATEDLY: there would still be the next gen of villains to worry about. Like whatever Joss is cooking up. So there’s still potential for local plots there.]

The more I gab about this, the more I wanna retract the statement that ‘they’d be more well adjusted’ because would they, really? Things are still messy in Main Canon but the mess would continue no matter what since this IS a messy ass group lmao. This has all been one long stream of thought with no real point so I hope sense can be made of it lolol^^

chapa: listen. there is currently a page in my notes app that looks like This:

so. i am taking this opportunity to drop chapa into the plot of the 2026 supergirl movie, AU-style. <3

and she can fill ruthye's role in the narrative. which would be heartwrenching and devastating, but! she would also get to have a sword. <3

bose: dropping bose into parallels 2022, crossover-style.

this is because i desperately want bose o'brien and romane berthauds to be friends. :) they have so much in common and i think they would be such a nice duo. <3

duo with terrible stepdads that gave them so many issues. duo where they both love their friends so so much and keep fondly bringing them into every conversation. duo of two very sweet and physically affectionate kids who are also in desperate need of reassurance that they aren't going to be left behind by everyone in their life.

and- hmm i don't remember if french was one of the languages bose was learning during the quarantine episode, but. assuming for the sake of the fun crossover potential that french is one of the languages he's working on. so he can have a nice time improving his french while he is dropped into parallels. <3

also sdlkslskk giggling at the thought of bose hanging out in romane's room and the two comparing the Plots of their respective lives. and romane carefully bringing up the subject of victor's time-acceleration powers, expecting- well. she doesn't know what reaction she was expecting from this kid, but it definitely wasn't "oh, cool. my ex-girlfriend could do that, too. she's from space."

and they can do cool tricks to show off their powers and then be so very impressed with each other's powers. <3 bose can casually mention how cool she is and romane can mess with his hair and they can have a nice happy dynamic. <3 i think that would be very fun and cute. <3

miles: dropping miles into the percy jackson books, either AU-style or crossover-style. <3

i think it would be really fun and interesting to put him in the PJO universe. (well. i technically already Did put him in a PJO AU, but! pretending that i didn't already do that. <3)

miles with his themes of predetermined destiny and guidance from the universe. miles with his increasing anxiety around the threat of losing people the further we get into canon. miles with his teleportation and future-vision abilities. miles with his recurring insistence that fighting won't solve all their problems. miles with his easygoing friendliness combined with his refusal to blindly follow authority.

so. i think miles specifically would make a very compelling demigod in the percy jackson universe. <3

mika: dropping mika into the plot of "the unlisted" (2019), AU-style. <3

technically, i would have to drop both twins into it for the plot to work, but miles already got his answer; this one is focused on mika. :)

(and also Technically i have already contemplated a dangerverse + "the unlisted" AU in my notes app with almost all the main characters assigned to roles in the plot, but. this is not about Them. this is about mika. <3)

i just think it would be very interesting for mika to be in a series where the plot crucially revolves around 1) mind control devices being implanted into kids without their knowledge. 2) twins who can successfully impersonate each other when the situation calls for it. 3) a group of stressed, exhausted kids exposing a corrupt global organization funded by billionaires while hiding from the government, fearing for their family's lives, and also loving their friends so so much.

i think she would have a nice time. <3 well actually. that is a lie. <3 i think she would be absolutely miserable no matter which twin i put her in the role of. (due to a mix-up, one of the twin protagonists has two mind control implants, the other has none.) but it would be very interesting to see her handle those situations while having several near-breakdowns in the process. and then she could have lots of well-deserved comfort and rest at the end. <3

as a group: as a group, i am dropping all four of the beloved menace children into the disney descendants movies + books, AU-style. <3 which seems like a slightly unfair answer, since i've already started writing some of a descendants AU for them, but!! consider my Excellent Argument in favor of this: they can have hypothetical catchy musical songs. they can have traumatic childhoods. they can have all sorts of delightful magic-based subplots. they can have found family trope. they can have swords. :)

and-!! dropping them into the entire descendants franchise means that i can get two whole AUs out of it: one for the general plot vibes of the first arc movies, one for the general plot vibes of the second arc movies. :) <3

My original idea had been giving Henry a more stable and careful mentor like Ray had originally been for Danger Force but now that I think about it, that's not what would happen. Honestly, he might have been worse.
