Another Series in Famitsu Articles, This time from our main leads Ono Yuki and Nao Toyama, trying my best with google translate to summarize

1st Section

Ono also mentions a time when he met up with Percival's VA and how Percival's VA at the beginning was a lot more youthful than it was now. It took several years of trial and error to get to where it is today.

Granblue records a lot, Toyama mentions that she records 3-4 times a month when it comes to Granblue which is a lot of voice lines especially over 12 years.

Just a quote from Nao Toyama about Lyria over the years it's google translate, but I think the point still gets across.

Gallanth's voice for Ono in the very bottom rung of his range so it gets tricky for him to sometimes voice Gallanth especially on days when his voice hurts

Gallanth is around his mid 40s, but since he entered Estalucia in his 30s, he's physically stuck there, so he's in his 30s basically.

If Gallanth is on the lower end of his range, Gran is on the upper end of his range

In fact, when the animation for Granblue was about to release, he honestly thought he was going to get recast because he had a string of failed auditions for roles similar to Gran.

He then goes on the talk seperate Lancelot and Gran's voice from each other especially on stages like Granfes where its certaintly possible they both could speak at the same time. The big difference is making sure that Gran's voice stays boyish while Lancelot has more maturity.

They talk about some other stuff like how they before reading the script they were about our main character's fates

But I think the last major thing to mention is that for Lyria's VA, she said that playing Astralia and Lyria was like listening to the angels and devils on her shoulder.

She wanted Astralis to sound like someone who is motherly and could make you believe that she would be the key to solving the conflict in Estalucia so that way when she finally reveled her true colors. You could get that sense of shock. 

Whenever I try working on my Granblue drafts. I always have to ask how much I let the captain's talk because they are a silent protagonist so for the most part, they are a vessel for the plot.

But on a writing level, it is established charactization that the Captain is not talkative person on any level. One of Gran's dislikes on GBFV is public speaking just to note.

As a character trait, it's interesting trait to have because the Captain are not people who are introverted, they are friendly, kind, and more than willing to engaging in fun if called for. But they don't use words to communicate often times you'll see characters read the Captain's face as a way to gauge their reaction to events or words. I remember Joel's SSR fate showing off this type of interaction pretty well.

This quiet nature to me is why they're able to connect so well with the loners in his crew like Eustace and Seox and the desire to not say a word if you don't feel like it. There has to have been times where a crewmate just forgets what the captain's voice sounds like sometimes because of how little they use it when communicating with others.

I bet outsiders look at the crew and think the captain is someone else because all they see is a quiet kid surrounded by older people who are talking even though they're probably all discussing plans together.
