The slam of the Curtis’s front door is so loud that everybody straightens up, immediately expecting a yell from Darry for treating the house so poorly. Everyone is surprised when that doesn’t happen. More so, everyone is surprised when they turn to find Dallas looking morbidly stressed, his face void of any of its natural colour.
“What do I do when my girl is angry and I need to make her… not angry?”
The boys all cackle loudly at Dallas’s dilemma, and Ponyboy, who would usually refrain from making any comments at Dally’s expense, feels brave enough to question “You mean you haven’t dumped her for being mad at you?”
“Wow, you must like this girl.” Teases Steve, grinning widely. Dallas doesn’t find any of this funny, his face unchanging from its current state of stress. He’s not going to acknowledge Steve’s jab, because yes, he does like you, and indeed, you are the only girl he hasn’t dumped for disagreeing with him. However, Dallas does have to admit, he doesn’t understand why are you’re mad at him. Not at all.
“Where’s Darry?” He asks, huffing when three hands immediately point down the hall in the direction of the three rooms. From his spot in the living room, Dally can see that the bathroom door is cracked open, which only means one thing: Darry is in his bedroom. He hesitates; there’s no way he can just stroll up and knock on Darry’s door to ask advice about a girl. One he’s only been with for a couple of months at that (which is longer than he can say for his past relationships).
“What’s wrong, Dally boy?” Starts Two-Bit, more engaged in the conversation than his television show for once. “Too scared to knock on big ol’ Darrel’s door?” Dallas huffs, walking past the boys in the room and in the direction of Darry’s room. He pauses in the hallway when the older boy’s door cracks open on its own and Darry comes out, a white towel slung over his shoulder. When his eyes lift up from the floor and land on Dally, they go wide in surprise, not expecting him there at all, let alone looking so vulnerable.
“Darry, Dally wants girl advice from you!” Calls Sodapop from the living room, and Dally feels too called out to retort anything back to him, the tips of his ears going bright red. The corner of Darry’s lip quirks up, but he shakes his head to wipe the smile off his face, nodding towards the dining table, where he walks past Dally to take a seat. Dally hesitantly takes a seat, throwing a glare to the five boys in the living room before sitting down in front of Darry.
When Dally doesn’t begin the conversation, Darry raises his eyebrows up, causing the man in front of him — very much resembling a boy in his sheepishness at the moment — to mumble “She’s mad at me.”
“I figured. What did you do?” Muffled chuckles behind Dally have him crossing his arms over his chest. He deliberates asking Darry to tell them to leave, but no, he needs to keep his reputation. “I don’t know what I did wrong!” Dally exclaims, but all Darry does is cross is arms over his chest and lean back into his chair. Dallas sighs. “Her words were: I’m not gonna sit around waiting for you when you’re just a man. I have other things I could be doing.”
“Were you late again, Dally?” Johnny asks from where he’s sat in the living room, and Dally furrows his eyebrows, twisting around in his chair to look at the younger boy. He finds everyone looking back at him expectantly. “What do you mean ‘late again’?”
“As in, were you late to a date just like you’re late to everything else in life?” Clarifies Steve.
“I’m not late to everything!” Complains Dally defensively, squaring his shoulders when everyone’s faces morph into deadpanned expressions. He turns around to Darry, expecting the man to defend him to the other boys. What he’s met with is the same unimpressed expression.
“Dallas, you’re always late.” He says, not offensively, but truthfully.
“Man, it sounds like she’s doing you a favour by not breaking up with you. If a lady says she has lots of other things she could be doing, she’s talking about men.” Dally hears shuffling before Two-Bit pulls out a chair and sits next to him at the table.
“Two-Bit is right, Dallas. She’s giving you a chance to treat her the way she deserves before she leaves you for someone else who will treat her better than you. The reason she hasn’t left you yet is because she likes you.”
Dallas furrows his brows, his arms loosening over his chest. “All that over being late a couple of times?”
Darry sighs, placing his towel on the back of the chair beside him. “Dally, every time you’re late, you show her that you care less and less. You don’t value her time, so you don’t value her. Do you care about her Dally?”
Darry’s question surprises Dally, who swallows thickly, intimidated by the clearly watchful eyes around him. But after a long moment, he nods, voice quiet as he admits “Yeah, I care about her a lot.” Darry nods, appreciative of the boy’s honesty. He replies in a soft voice. “Okay, good. Now you have to show her you care. And that starts by showing up on time. But you can’t just do the minimum for a girl if you want her to know you like her. You’ve got to go out of your way to do things for her.”
“Like flowers.” Dally sighs in annoyance. A slap on the back of his head has him pushing his chair back to fight whoever it was, but a stern call of Dally’s name from the one person he fears has him slumping back in his chair. He soon discovers the hit had come from Sodapop, who takes a seat at the head of the table and tells Dally “Man, you don’t know the things I’d do if I still had Sandy. Flowers are nothing.”
Flowers are nothing.
Dallas replays that sentence in his mind over and over for the rest of the day, even when he lays on his bed back at Buck’s, asking himself about the things you love. How would he show you that he cares?
He’s never asked a girl to be his girlfriend before. He’d go on a couple of dates then go unresponsive, or acknowledge them just enough that he could have company on boring nights. But he’d taken you out more times in a single week than he’d had a total number of dates with any other girl in the entirety of their relationship. Dallas doesn't just want your company, he craves it. He likes taking you home from dates and kissing you softly, and likes having an arm around you no matter where you are. He used to hate when girls draped themselves over him on their dates, but with you? He needs everyone to know that you’re his.
So he buys the flowers, he buys some chocolate, and he buys something infinitely lasting. Something meaningful. Well, it’s not meaningful to him, but he knows from the stack on your bed that you’ll keep the teddy bear forever. And of course, he climbs the pipe to your bedroom window instead of having to face either of your parents at the front door. It’s a little bit of a struggle with all the things he’s carrying, but he manages.
Dally becomes sad while he looks through the window. You’re sat on the floor, cassette player next to you as you massage a thin cream onto your smooth face. He can’t believe you’ve ever been sat somewhere waiting for him, thinking he didn’t care about you. How did you manage to look at him afterwards?
Finally, Dally brings a hand up to knock on your window. Your head snaps towards the window, and Dally sees you squint at the glass before your expression turns to one of realisation. Dally smiles to himself when you push yourself off the floor, rushing to open the window. He sees the conflict across your features when you come face to face with him, and gulps thickly when you take a step back for him to enter your room. He drops his little gifts onto the floor before hoisting himself into your room. A little huff leaves him when he drops onto the floor, turning around to shut the window behind him. He scrambles to pick up the bouquet and teddy bear, leaving the chocolates on the floor so he can turn to you with a feeling he can only describe as vulnerable.
“Um, I do care.” Dally says, clearing his throat. You put your hands on your hips, a small frown making its way onto your features, but you let Dally continue. “And I didn’t realise that being late meant that I was showing you I don’t care. But I understand that now. I get that I need to make more of an- an effort with you so you don’t leave me for some other man.” Dallas blinks quickly, moving his gaze to the floor. He feels like throwing up. He is going to throw up. He inhales shakily, feeling a lump form in his throat. God, he is about to spread the most vile story about you if you turn him away now.
Except you don’t.
“Look at me Dally.” Dally refuses to glance up at you. You bring a hand up below his chin, pushing his face up so he can meet your gaze. You're not frowning anymore, but you still don't seem exactly happy. You hate that he looks adorable like this. Yes, you’re still mad at him, and no, you don’t understand how he didn’t see your point from the beginning, but ultimately, he has never stripped himself from his tough exterior in front of you, and it is just so charming.
“Hey. I can forgive you this time.” You tease, only half joking. He knows. Dally nods, hesitantly beginning to wrap his arms around you. You step forward into his chest, leaning into his body so he can hug you, and you bring your arms up to hold him in your arms too. “Can I… Can I get a kiss?” Dally mumbles against your hair, and you pull back slightly to look at him. You tilt your face up, a hand snaking up his chest to rest on the side of his neck.
Dally smiles softly at you before leaning in, his lips melding with yours. You can feel the way his entire body relaxes against yours, and it makes you breathe out in amusement. You pull away from the kiss, and Dally’s body jerks forward to follow you, but you put both hands on his shoulders to stop him. He looks betrayed for a moment, but you take the bouquet and cute bear from his hands, gently placing them on your bed before throwing yourself onto him. He stumbles back a step as you wrap your arms over his shoulders, lip slamming onto his, and he can’t help but smile into the kiss, his arms tightening around you to hold you close to him as he kisses you with all the passion he can muster.
When you pull away, it’s because you’re out of breath. Dally is panting too, but it seems he would have kept going if you hadn’t broken the kiss. He puffs his chest up, suddenly arrogant again, and you roll your eyes, pushing away from him to sit on your bed. You pick up the teddy bear, smiling down at it, and turn it around to face Dally.
“So what do you want to name him?”
Dally feels honoured to have even been given that opportunity.

Being a Curtis meant living in constant change. No matter what day of the week it was or the season, every single day was completely different from the last. From waking up to an actual breakfast to having chocolate cake for every meal. And it wasn’t like your family never accepted the change, but change was always something hard for your family to cope with—especially after your parents had died a year ago.
So when Ponyboy accidentally found out that you—his older sister, his only sister—were seeing Dallas Winston—the boy who’s been to jail more times than he could count—behind everyone’s back, he was too shocked to even utter a word at the sight.
He didn’t even mean to learn about your relationship with Dally—it was on pure accident. He and Johnny simply wanted advice from Dally, and Buck had let them inside his house. It wasn’t his fault that Dally left his bedroom door unlocked when he clearly had company over.
When the door swung open and revealed Ponyboy and Johnny, you immediately pulled away from Dally, scrambling to get off his lap while throwing a pillow in Dally's direction. Ponyboy immediately spun around and squeezed his eyes shut, tugging Johnny around as he stood frozen in fear and shock.
After what seemed like ages of shuffling around, the both of you were finally decent, although the smudges of gloss and lipstick around Dally's mouth seemed to remain.
He sat up properly and looked at you in amusement before putting a hand out toward the youngest Curtis in efforts to get him to focus on something other than walking in on his sister making out with a juvenile delinquent. “Listen, kid—“
“Don’t you dare say anything right now.” You glare at Dally before slowly moving toward your brother, approaching him like he was a wild animal. Ponyboy hadn’t said anything for the past five minutes, and you were starting to get worried that you broke him with one terrible interaction. “Pony—?”
“You’re dating Dally?” Ponyboy finally said as he turned back around to face you, staring at the two of you like it was the craziest thing in the entire world. He bit the top of his thumb and looked around the room, trying to distract himself from unwanted thoughts. “Does Darry know?”
You shake your head and gently move his hand away from his mouth, getting him to look at you. “Darry does not know, and he won’t know until we tell him, got it?”
Ponyboy’s eyes widened as he began to pace Dally’s room, mind running millions of miles per second. He wasn’t sure if keeping your relationship hidden was a smart move, but he couldn’t tell Darry without you knowing—you would kill him. And what about Sodapop? Surely he deserved to know about you and Dally, he wasn’t a snitch and he definitely wouldn’t be the one to tell Darry either.
Johnny watched Ponyboy cautiously, fingers playing with the buttons on his jean jacket for a lack of movement compared to his best friend. He wasn’t surprised that you and Dally ended up together—hell, Dally had told him that he liked you when he got drunk once. He didn’t know exactly when you got together, but it wasn’t Johnny’s place to tell anybody about your business or Dally’s business.
“Man, how did y’all even start dating?” Johnny asked to no one in particular as he continued to stare at Ponyboy, a small frown tugging at his lips.
“Uh, dunno, just happened one day.” Dally laid back on the headboard of the bed and lit a cigarette he found behind his ear, blowing the smoke high into the air before you could reprimand him.
You raise your brows at Dally’s words, looking back at him in surprise before rolling your eyes at the cigarette hanging from his lips. Dally loved to tell the story of how you two started going out, but you weren’t exactly sure what was stopping him. He would only be telling Ponyboy and Johnny.
“You are a terrible story teller.” You huff and put your hands on your hips, “You really aren’t gonna tell them?”
Dally took another drag from the cigarette, shrugging in response before a wicked grin made its way onto his face. He stood from his spot on the bed and wrapped an arm around your shoulders, leaning his body against yours until you supported half of his weight.
“I’ll tell them how it ended, doll, how ‘bout that?” He said with the same damn grin, making you narrow your eyes at him, almost daring him to tell the two boys how that night ended. “Well, the story ends with me and girl Curtis tangled up in those sheets back there—“
“Okay, gross, shut up.” Ponyboy groaned and covered his ears, Johnny burning a bright red at the unwelcome thoughts. Ponyboy still kept his ears covered, “I’ll keep it a secret for as long as I can, but Soda and Darry are bound to find out sooner or later.”
After you finish jabbing Dally in the stomach for his crude behavior, you look back at your brother and remove his hands from his ears. “And we’ll cross that bridge when it happens, for now—“
You take Johnny and Ponyboy by their shoulders and turn them away, walking them to the doorway of the bedroom. “—I want to spend time with my boyfriend alone, alright?”
The two boys nodded and made quick steps to leave the place at once, doing their best to forget anything Dally had told them in the last minute of their life. You sigh and move to close the door when Dally props his head out the doorway.
“She’s a great broad, Ponyboy!” Dally shouted as he yanked the door back open, earning a scowl from you. He shut the door and locked it, giving you grin. “In the best way possible, doll.”
Although you wanted to spend time with Dally after Ponyboy and Johnny interrupted your make-out session, he really ruined the vibe with his parting words for the two boys. You ignored Dally as he tried to pull you in his arms and moved to sit on his bed instead, crossing your legs and arms then looking away.
Dally rolled his eyes and snubbed out his cigarette before taking a seat beside you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pressing kisses to your neck and jaw.
“Come on, doll face.” He murmured as his hands wandered underneath your shirt. “You know I like you.”
You turn your head slightly and meet his eyes—the ones that only soften around the edges when he was with you. You bite your tongue when he trailed his hands across your stomach, “Do I?”
Dally propped his chin in your shoulder and pulled your legs apart, slotting himself in between and pushing you down onto his bed. “If you wanted to make-out, you could’ve asked without being so quiet about it.”
You pout jokingly before cupping his face and pulling him in for a kiss, separating when his St. Christopher pendant pressed coldly against your neck. “Where’s the fun in that, Dal?”
“Man, what’re you gonna do about it? We’ll all be at the drive-in tonight.” Johnny kicked a rock as he walked beside Ponyboy, his tattered converse scuffing the cracked concrete as they returned to the Curtis house.
Ponyboy had been wanting to go to the drive-in for weeks after they announced they would do a double feature of Paul Newman movies. Tonight was the last night and Sodapop thought it was a good idea to drag everyone along—even Dally.
When Sodapop suggested the idea, nearly everyone was on board, but Ponyboy nearly felt his eyes pop out of his skull. If you and Dally were at the drive-in together, who knew what was going to happen. Although you were secretive about it, Dally would do anything to claim what was his.
“I’ll keep my damn mouth shut, that’s what.” Ponyboy stuffed his hands into his pockets as he kicked the fence gate open. “I’m sure they’ll be just fine with the rest of the gang. Besides, what could really go wrong?”
Apparently everything could.
When Sodapop said he was going to drag everyone to the drive-in, he truly meant everyone. He begged Darry far too many times that he eventually gave in and tagged along. Darry didn't want to go, but Sodapop wasn't going to stop until he got his way.
So Darry was also at the drive-in. Unfortunately for you and Dally—fortunately for Ponyboy—Darry sat in between the two of you, afraid that his younger sister might be tainted by the one and only person who could truly ruin her.
Too bad Darry didn’t know you were already Dally’s.
From where you sat, you watched Dally become restless beside Darry, making you bite the inside of your cheek. You knew he was itching to just talk to you even for a second, but Darry being there made it nearly impossible to even breathe near one another. Instead, you met his eyes and cocked your head to the side.
“I’m gonna grab a drink from the concession stand.” You announce loud enough for Dally to hear, but quiet enough to not disturb any of the other attendees.
Darry muttered something incoherent and handed you some change, watching you leave before switching his attention back to the projector. He looked over to his left and noticed that Dally had left too, raising his eye brows at the sight.
“Where’s Dally?” Darry asked out loud, earning shrugs from the rest of the boys—except for Ponyboy.
Ponyboy froze at the question and looked to his right, groaning when he saw Dally's empty seat. He should have known you two would try to sneak away together for even a moment. He mentally cursed both of you before excusing himself, leaving to find the two of you before Darry found you.
While back at the concession line, Dally was all over you. His arms were wrapped around your waist, head tucked into your neck and shoulder, murmuring words he wouldn’t dare say to anyone else.
If Darry saw you now, you’d both be dead in an instant.
“You missed me that much?” You murmur as he nods, continuing his kisses across your neck. “It’s only been thirty minutes—“
“Doll, I haven’t seen you all day.” He muttered and moved to wrap an arm around your shoulder instead, planting one last kiss to your jaw before complaining once more. “And your damn brother is making it real difficult for me to even talk to you.”
“If you hate it so much, then why’d you agree to come?” You roll your eyes before smiling brightly at the cashier, ordering your coke and a small bag of popcorn you knew Two-Bit would want after you returned.
Dally paid for your order before turning back to the conversation. He huffed and rubbed his jaw, voice low in annoyance. “'Cause I didn’t know Darrel was coming.”
You look up at him after grabbing your drink and popcorn, a teasing glint in your eyes. "You afraid of lil' ol' Darry?"
“Lil' Ol' Darry is a twenty year old man with pure muscle, and I'm datin' his little sister. You tell me.” He directed you toward the back of the seats, not wanting to go back to being separated just yet.
You took a sip from your coke and frowned at his words, looking down at your shoes for a second before Dally noticed your change in appearance.
“What?”
“You know we eventually have to tell Darry. Soda too.” You say quietly and stir the straw, the sounds of gunshots from the movie speakers ringing through the air.
Dally groaned and fiddled for a cigarette in his jean jacket, cupping his hand around the flame as wind blew through the night air. “You’re tryin’ to kill me, doll.”
You scoff and steal the lighter from his hand, “They’re still my family. I can’t just never tell them that we're going out Dal, that's not fair.”
He looked around for a second, poking the inside of his cheek with his tongue before looking back at you—shaking his head on how easily you could break his usually tough demeanor. “Alright, when do you wanna—”
"What are you two doing?" Ponyboy finally found the both of you, looking at you and Dally with so much annoyance you swore everyone at the drive-in could feel it.
"I was just getting a coke." You mutter and catch your brother's gaze.
"What's your excuse, Dally?" Ponyboy asked.
He sighed and put the unlit cigarette behind his ear, "Accompanying the missus."
Ponyboy's eye twitched and—for a second—Dally could see a vein pop on his forehead. "Are you both crazy? Darry immediately noticed that Dally was missing after you left—!"
"Sh!"
Dally rolled his eyes at the patrons before responding, thumbs looped in his jeans. "Listen, Ponyboy. I was just askin' your sister when we should tell Darrel and Sodapop—"
“Tell Darrel and Sodapop what?” Darry’s voice cut through Dally's explanation, causing you and Ponyboy to wince and face your older brother in fear.
Not only was Darry standing there with his arms crossed over his chest, but so was the rest of the gang—all of them expressing different emotions at the display. Sodapop wore an amused grin, Two-Bit stared with an open mouth while handing Steve a five dollar bill, and Johnny looked like he was about to run away from the scene.
Dally spun on his heel and put his arms on his hips before turning back around, head shaking in confusion and sudden frustration. “Where the hell did you come from?”
Darry narrowed his eyes at the boy, "I was going to look for my sister since it was taking an awfully long time to grab a singular drink, but then I saw Pony rushing over here like he was on fire or something."
“Darry—“ You try to stop the two boys from starting anything they didn't want to finish, only to be cut off by Darry and his disappointed glare.
“Don’t get me started on you." He shook his head and redirected his gaze back toward Dally, the heat returning to his blue-green eyes. "I want to hear from Dallas.”
Silence took over the group, everyone’s eyes darting between you and Dally to Darry. Ponyboy slowly ebbed his way over to Johnny, picking at his nails in nervousness. He should’ve known this was gonna happen when he left.
Finally, Two-Bit spoke up, trying to ease the tension but ultimately being ignored by the majority. “Oh, come off it, Darry. They ain’t causing trouble.”
Dally clicked his tongue and rolled his shoulders back, projecting enough confidence that surprised Johnny and Ponyboy. “Well, since you oughta know now, me and girl Curtis are going out.”
Sodapop’s grin widened when he saw you—his little sister—flush red, “Well, shit. I thought that was obvious when we came over. I think Darry just wanted a denial from y’all.”
You pursed your lips and watched Darry’s eyes narrow at the two of you, his fingers twitching for a split second before he moved. He took long strides over to Dally and gripped his arm, pulling him away from you and taking him to the other side of the drive-in. You bite your tongue, holding back any sounds of protest as you watched Dally and Darry speak.
“You didn’t think to tell us before Darry tries to kill your boyfriend?” Sodapop tilted his head and occasionally darted his eyes toward his older brother, watching him closely to ensure he didn’t blow his temper in a public space full of socs.
“I was gonna ease it in.” You sigh and drag your hand down your face in frustration, flicking a piece of dirt off your shirt. “You know how Darry gets when a boy looks at me, let alone Dally. Hell, he almost wanted to kill Steve when he took me to school the other day.”
“Not a fun memory, by the way.” Steve quipped from where he stood by Two-Bit, earning an eye roll from Ponyboy and a snort from Sodapop.
You raise a brow at them before waving a hand in the air, “If it makes you feel any better, Johnny and Ponyboy already knew.”
“What?” Two-Bit spun around and gawked at the two youngest of the gang. “And you didn’t wanna tell anyone? I could’ve won a bet with Steve!”
“Sh!”
“I promised to keep it a secret!” Ponyboy defended himself and crossed his arms, looking at you with slight annoyance. “It’s gross if you ask me.”
“Sh!”
“Mind your own business!” You and Steve whipped over to the old couple who kept shushing your group, watching them shake their heads and mutter something about ‘kids these days.’
Johnny scratched the bruise on his jaw, voice quiet after being told to shush too many times. “We found out on accident. Besides, there’s no good in arguing about it now.”
Before anyone else could add anything else to the matter, Dally and Darry came back. Neither of them expressing what they truly felt on the inside except. The only thing revealing their feelings were their eyes.
Darry looked like he could beat the living shit out of someone whilst Dally looked a little too proud for your liking.
Everyone held their breath but exhaled silently when Darry stole the keys back from Sodapop.
“Let’s go.” He beckoned his brothers away from the gang, looking back at you with the same disappointed look he gave you earlier. “Say goodbye. We’re leaving.”
You waited for them to disperse before looking up at Dally with crossed arms, “What did you two talk about? Darry looks like he was going to actually kill you.”
“Don’t worry about it, everything is fine, doll.” Dally ran rough fingers up and down your spine, watching your rigid figure soften. “Trust me.”
“Worst thing I could do is trust you right now.” You sigh and fiddle with your jacket’s zipper, your voice barely above a whisper. “He’s not mad?”
“Fuckin’ fuming, doll.” He fished the lighter out from your back pocket and lit his cigarette, blowing the smoke toward his right. “But Darrel said as long as I treat you like the woman you are, he’s okay with it. He put stupid quotations around it too.”
“Which means he’s not okay with it.” You groan and smack his chest with the back of your hand, putting your hands on your hips. “I’m blaming you if I see you with a black eye and bruises in the next few days.”
“You’ll still like me and my charming smile.” He tucked the lighter back into your back pocket and pulled you closer.
“Unfortunately.” You tease before pushing him away when you heard Darry’s protests from the entrance of the drive-in. “I gotta go, Dal.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow, doll.”
“Maybe don’t come around our house just yet.” You kiss his cheek and look over back at your brothers:
Darry spun his truck keys around his fingers while he bore a hard stare into your skull, Sodapop tried to distract him, and Ponyboy spoke to Johnny, his eyes constantly darting back to you and Dally.
You turn back to Dally, lips turned down into a small frown. “Darry might kill you.”
“Whatever, man.” Dally ignored Darry’s stare and placed his index and thumb on your chin, pulling you mere centimeters away once more. “I’ll see you tomorrow, alright?”
“Fine.” You give-in as he placed a rough kiss to your lips.
You hum into the kiss before pulling away with wide eyes when he tried to deepen it, head immediately whipping over to the entrance where Darry was already heading toward the two of you.
“Jesus, you have a death wish.” You say quickly with a pink face before you felt someone’s hand on your shoulder.
“Get in the truck.” Darry pulled you away and shot Dally a dirty glare. “I said say goodbye, not make out with him.”
You shrug his hand off your shoulder and tuck your hands under one another, eyes hardened in frustration for both your brother and boyfriend. “I wasn’t!”
Darry muttered something under his breath and opened the back door for you, slamming it when you got it. You dug your nails into the seats, anger flaring in your eyes—just like your oldest brother.
“You like him.” Sodapop teased from the front seat of the truck, earning a glare from both you and Darry. He tossed his hands in the air, “What did I do?”
“Man, you and Dally are gross.” Ponyboy murmured in your direction and earned a flick to the arm from you. “Ow!”
Before you could get him back, Darry’s voice boomed in the car, causing everyone in the car to freeze like a broken movie frame.
“Quit fightin’ or you’re both walking home.” He huffed as he started the truck, driving out of his parking spot and down the cracked road toward the East side of Tulsa. “Can’t believe a simple outing turned into a lecture for my kid siblings.”
“We didn’t even finish watching the movie—“
“Sodapop, I swear to God—“
“Hey! I’m not the one dating Dallas Winston!”
“Soda!” You hit his arm when he mentioned your relationship with Dally, making Ponyboy hit you in retaliation and defense. “Ow!”
Darry slammed on the brakes and stared at the three of you in frustration, everyone’s eyes wide at the sudden action. “I want you three to shut up until we get home. And before you say anything else, I don’t want anymore talk about Dallas Winston tonight, got it?”
The three of you stilled and stared at the carpet of the truck, murmurs of agreement in the air.
“Good.”
Unfortunately for Darry, before he could move again, Sodapop’s eyes darted toward the side mirror, catching a figure running up to the truck. With the familiar leather jacket and heavy, worn boots, he instantly knew who was approaching the truck.
“Isn’t that Dal?” He asked quietly, causing the everyone to turn back and stare at the figure.
Dally pulled the door open and stared at you for a second, your eyes wide in confusion. “What are you—?”
“Sorry, forgot something.” He dug his hand into your back pocket and took the lighter back from you, sneaking a kiss to your lips before leaving.
Ponyboy nearly gagged at the sight and Sodapop wanted to whistle, but refrained after seeing his older brother’s pissed expression. You stared at him with wide eyes as Dally backed away, shutting the truck door and winking at you.
His devil grin glinting from the moonlight, “I’ll see you tomorrow, doll face!”

"Shy," is always the word people use to describe you, always the thing that makes you distinct. As a kid, you were always hiding behind your parent, or talking really quietly when it was your turn to read in class. When people come to talk to you, you tense up, looking to the floor instead of their eyes, and speaking in mumbles rather than words.
So when it came to be that you were dating Dallas, it was a shock to most if not all—the tall, intimidating hoodlum who shouted and flipped off cops, and jumped little kids. The boy who didn't have a shy bone in his body is dating the sweet shy girl, who gets nervous when people as much as say hello to her. How you two even met, or came to be was a mystery, and there seemed to be no possible story to explain how you two came to be.
How you two worked, a mystery as well. You are so timid, and he is the exact opposite. A lot of times you'd be seen hiding behind Dallas, tightly gripping his hand as he squeezed yours for reassurance. In reality, he dealt well with your shyness. Which was a shock. He knew that you were shy, and didn't try to push you too much, although he definitely has his moments where he does.
Like right now, as he has you lying under him on your bed. Cock deep into your flushed, soaking pussy. Your hands are covering your face, one pressed to your mouth, the other shielding the other half of your face. All while you keep trying to bury yourself in the sheets, like you're trying to wiggle away and melt into the bed.
"Doll, where ya going?" Dallas chuckles, gripping you harder by your waist, pulling you down to meet his thrusts.
You let out a little whimper, turning your head away. Dallas shakes his head; every time you guys had sex you'd retreat into this shy little creature. Hiding away your face, shutting your eyes, covering up your mouth to seal in your whines and whimpers, closing your legs to hide that beautiful cunt between them. Your face was always red and flushed, even your neck and tips of your ears a bright cheeky red that never went away.
It's nerve-racking letting him see you like this, completely bare and naked. Knowing that he's the only person to see you like this. How can you not help but be shy when he's entering your body in places no one else has, making you cum on his cock. Leaking out that creamy white liquid, watching you wither and squirm as you try not to cum. Watching all the ways your body responds to him. It's embarrassing the way he gets you like this, completely brainless, pathetic, and your only response is to hide away and pretend that you're not there high on ecstasy.
Dallas inevitably finds it funny. He has that big dopey smirk on his face, and you know if you even glance at it you'll probably catch on fire and burn away from embarrassment. You don't respond to him, keeping your head buried deep in the sheets.
He chuckles and tries to push away your hands, but it's like trying to pry away metal from a magnet, "Baby move your hands."
You vaguely shake your head, the thought of him seeing your face makes you tense up.
He sighs and stops his movement, pulling out. Your body freezes and you blink; your hole pathetically clenches around nothing, almost trying to savor the feeling of his cock.
You let out a little whine at the loss of contact.
"Move your hands away, or I'm gonna leave you like this, and not let you cum," you gasp and your eyes go wide, peeking over your hand to look at him.
He sees those shaky little eyes, peeking over to see him, and smiles, "I wanna see those pretty eyes look at me, always hiding away like you're afraid of it. Like you don't like it."
You blush crimson, pulling away one of your hands while the other covers your mouth as you chew on your lip. Eyes a little watery as your body is desperately trying to savor the feeling of pleasure, dwindling through you.
"I-..." you let out a little noise meekly, barely being heard.
"Put your hands down now," you huff and pull your hands down to your side. Instantly feeling a wave of embarrassment and vulnerability as those dark brown eyes stare right at you. Your shoulders tense, and you keep flickering your eyes to somewhere, anywhere else in the room.
"Always so shy, always burying your face in the bed," he laughs. He grabs both of your legs and pulls them apart, re-slots right back into you. You let out a squeak and bring your hand up to cover your mouth.
"Hey—" he slaps the side of your hip, "What'da I say?"
Your eyes go wide again, flickering back up to him, "Y-y...ou."
"Come on spit it out."
"You said d-don't cover my face..." you say quietly, head dipping down into your chest like a sullen kitten getting kicked.
"There, ya go," he grins and thrusts back deep inside you. Plunging right into that spongy spot your body loves. You gasp and let out a whimper. Every time you let out a little noise you're almost shocked that it came out of you. Like you didn't know you ever could make those slutty little noises of pleasure. As he starts to fuck you again Dallas's words start to trickle out of the other ear you just heard them in. Starting to hide your face back into the sheets, and closing your eyes again.
He grabs a hold of your jaw, squeezing tight as he turns your head back towards him, "Aw you're getting shy again slut? Too much? My cock too good for you, you're getting all embarrassed."
Your breath leaves, and your lip trembles, pulling it back to chew on, "Always gotta hide away from me when I'm tryna fuck you. You don't like my cock?"
You barely register what he's saying to you, like a machine your jaw is like rust. Unable to speak, unable to even open.
He pats your cheek, "Open up, tell me you like it."
"I-I," you feel the breath knocked out of you, his cock splitting you open. You want to cry, feeling like a thousand eyes are upon you but it's just his, "I-I love...y-your cock."
He grins big and wide, hips cracking against your pelvis as he plunges deep into that gooey spot. Unable to shield your mouth and conceal your moans you let one out, high and involuntary. You gasp and clench down on your jowls to not make another noise.
Dallas immediately notices, "Nu uh, open your mouth."
Your eyebrows dip down into that pathetic look, the one that says you're too shy, too nervous. Dallas doesn't care anymore.
"Open your mouth, I wanna hear you moaning for this dick."
He presses his thumb to your lips and pushes in, pressing down on your jaw. Opening your mouth wide, no sound can be concealed or hidden away.
You feel your brain start to melt, saliva pooling around the corners of your mouth, and around his thumb. Your body arching up into him, moans ripping out of your throat. You desperately try to find something to shield yourself, cover up, or hide away. But you can't, you can barely even look away with Dallas holding your jaw so tightly in his grasp.
"This makes you shy? Me fucking you open with my dick, moaning and shit, making you feel good."
You nod, tears forming in your eyes from the proximity, from Dallas's eyes on you, from bare vulnerability.
He lets out a snicker, "Can't hide anymore, leaking around my cock like a whore. Y'know that? You even realize you're creaming around me?"
The degrading continues, even after he finally pulls his thumb out of your mouth, and lets you bury your head back in the sheets. He's got your legs pressed to your chest, cock deep inside your walls, grazing against your cervix as he speaks right into your ear.
"Just imagine everyone else seeing you like this. Seeing you're not so shy and sweet, but really just a slut who craves my cock."
You whimper and pout, tears pooling at your waterline. He's being mean, his words striking right into your chest, his cock thrusting right into that spot that's making you see white.
"D-dal..." you whine, trying to seep into the mattress.
He tugs at your jaw and has that dangerous glint in his eyes, "Come on, cum all over it. Don't need to be shy bout it."
You back arches up, pressing into him. Your eyes go wide as you feel that pressure and heat in your lower stomach press and press into you till it snaps. You grip onto Dallas's shoulders, legs twitching and wrapping tightly around him as white light fills behind your eyelids.
"There ya go," he rubs a few right circles on your clit with his thumb, making you spasm around him, walls clenching deliciously, which makes his head all fuzzy from the tight compact.
He swiftly pulls out and runs a hand along his shaft, stroking up and down while the other hand grabs you, forcing you on your knees at the edge of the bed.
He pumps his dick in his fist fast, and throws his head back as he cums, spurting hot ropes onto your face, giving you a nice creamy facial.
You gasp, mouth opening up to a sliver opening. Some land right on your tongue, and globs leak down your glossy lips seeping into your mouth.
He sighs from release and grabs your face, rubbing his thumb against your cum covered lips. Looking at his cum drizzled all over your face, not able to hide your face away into the creases of fabric, or your hands.
You stare up at him with wide eyes, lips parted, your cheeks bright red, cum dripping down the bridge of your nose and down the lines of your face.
"Wish I had a camera so I could show everyone your dumb face covered in my cum, then everyone would know how much of a slut you are. Wouldn't be able to hide then would ya?"
Your eyebrows twist down, lashes battering against your cheeks, lip protruding out. You shake your head no.
He smiles, "Good, now lie back down. Don't wipe a single drop of that cum off."

Cryin’ over a movie - Dallas winson xCrybaby! reader
“Oh god, not the tears again.” Dally said as you fanned your face, quickly wiping away the tears. You sat on your plush, pink bed. The movie that was showing on the television opposite was just so sad. Your boyfriend didn’t think the same as you, he kept laughing and pointing at the screen, saying that it wasn’t sad.
Despite his mean words, he tucked you into his side, filling you with the smell of cigarettes and ash.
You sobbed openly into the fabric now, blubbering about how the girl didn’t deserve for the man to cheat on her, and how she deserved so much better.
“C’mer doll,” he said, sighing as some of your wetness stained his shirt. “It’s not that sad. Look! The girl is happy now.” His hand tangled in your hair, gently pulling your eyes to the tv.You looked up, giggling as the girl pet a dog. “Awe, so cute.” You sniffled, wiping away the rest of your tears with the help of Dallas. “D’you wanna watch something else?” He asked, so soft that his gang would probably tease him endlessly for as he reached for the remote. He switched the channels until he landed on…mickey mouse? “Dally!” You said, laughing again. The crying was long gone now, replaced by the sound of you and your boyfriend’s laughter.
One is baby. He uses this one in front of everybody else, it's what he calls all the girls he hits on. "Baby" is him just teasing and flirting and putting on a show, the way he likes to do.
The second name is love.
This is the real pet name for you, the one he really means.
Love just falls from his lips so naturally but only when you're alone. It's just his way. Dally struggles to be soft when others are around, wanting to keep that sharp as a switchblade, cold as ice image he's worked so hard to build. A part of it is protectiveness, as long as he's tough then nobody's dumb enough to come near "Dally Winston's baby".
But when you're alone, he can soften a little.
He can have a smoke by the open window, looking out into the darkness as your record player plays some old, sweet love song he can smile when you walk into the room, taking your hand in his as he pulls you closer.
"Come 'ere, love..."
He smells of smoke and cologne, his hands are rough, but his lips are soft as he kisses you again and again...
Greaser boys reactions to you wearing their clothes
Darry Curtis:
He doesn’t want to admit how much it affects him when he sees you wearing his things. But he can’t deny that it does definitely make him feel something. Stronger maybe.
When Darry strolls into the kitchen late in the evening he isn’t expecting you to be in there at all, let alone to see you cooking in his shirt. His girl, his wonderful girl wearing one of his button ups, and smiling as he enters the room. It’s a little big on you, and one sleeve drops off your shoulder as you move toward him, lifting your arms ready for a hug.
“Hey doll,” he mumbles against your lips when you kiss him. The perfect antidote for his terrible day at work. “S’that my shirt?” He tugs at the fabric near the hem, fingers running over the old stitching.
“Mhm, is that problem?” You’re looking at him with genuine concern, as if you would take it off in an instant if he asked. But no, he definitely wants his shirt to stay on you.
“No, no problem doll. Just wondering.” He steps back, taking you in. “You look good.”
“Thank you.” You wink at him, a smile growing as Darrel steps back up toward you. He looks over your shoulder at the meal you’re making, and he’s glad there’s someone looking out for him.
“What’re you cooking?”
You glance back at the stove, shrugging his shirt back onto your shoulders. “Just you wait and see.”

Sodapop Curtis:
He’s so happy to see you when you show up at the DX on his lunch break that he practically runs out the door to meet you.
“Hey honey, what’re you doing here?” He damn near slams into you as he comes to a stop.
“I came to see you.” You say it likes it’s obvious because honestly, it kind of is. You don’t have a car, so you don’t need gas for it. Why else would you be at the station?
A smile grows on Soda’s face as he hears this news “Oh.” He leans down to kiss you, soft and sweet, “I’m glad you’re here.” He says when he pulls away.
Before you can respond, a car honks its horn at you, the driver signaling at you to get the hell out of the way so he can get his gas. “We better move.” Soda mumbles, tugging you along and over to the front wall of the DX. He leans against it, handsome as ever, happy to be with his girl.
Unfortunately the sun is a lot brighter on this side of the station. You’re squinting up at him, and without thinking, you pull his DX uniform cap off his head and put it onto your own. Instantly, you can see him better, his hair messy from the hat on it moments before. But his expression now, makes you chuckle.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” You ask, unable to stop yourself. The middle Curtis brother laughs, reaching up and adjusting the cap on your head.
“You look cute, is all. Wearing my stuff.” He tucks your hair near the front of your face underneath the cap so he can see you better, and you can’t stop a grin from forming at his gentle touch.
“Does it suit me?” You tilt your head to show off the DX label on the top of the cap, “you reckon they would hire me?”
Soda’s eyes crinkle at the edges, his smile shining off his face. “I’d sure as hell give you the job.” He mumbles, pulling you closer to him. He’s missed you since he started taking on more shifts to help Darry.
“Great,” you say, wrapping your arms around his neck. “When do I start?”
“Right now.” Soda tilts his head so he can reach your lips underneath the cap, kissing you again, this time without interruption. He leans back further against the wall, pulling you with him and lifting you up. It always feels like a movie, the way he kisses you. It feels like true love bottled up and poured out with his touches.
It almost pains him to pull away from you and check his watch. “You wanna come inside? My breaks almost up.” He’s caught his bottom lip between his teeth, unable to get over just how good you look in a piece of his uniform.
You would follow him anywhere, and you let him lead you through the doors of the DX, waving at Steve on your way in.
“Well look who it is!” Steve says when he sees you, knowing just how bad Soda’s withdrawals from you have been since he started working more.
“Hey Steve,” you smile at him, heading over to the counter to give him a hug. “You been keeping my boy company?”
Soda’s stomach flips as you call him ‘your boy’. Being yours means a lot to him.
“I’ve been trying to keep him entertained” Steve responds, slinging an arm over your shoulder. “Nice cap by the way.”
You tilt it toward him. “Thank you.” Before you look over Steve’s shoulder at the clock on the wall. “I should leave you boys to it, huh?”
Soda doesn’t want you to, and it must be clear on his face because you move away from Steve and grab his face in your hands. “I’ll see you tonight.” You don’t know how you’ll make it to his place by the time his shift ends, but you’ll find a way.
“Yeah?” He relishes in the way your hands feel on his face, the skin on skin contact he’s been craving for days.
You nod, and push him behind the counter. “Yeah, now get back to work you slacker.”
He laughs, and so does Steve.
“Okay, yes ma’am.”
Before you go, you pull his hat off your head and place it back onto his. “You’ll need that.” You say, smiling wide to match Soda’s own expression.
He reaches over the counter and brushes your hair back into place. It’s a sweet gesture, him fixing your hair. It’s intimate, and you miss him already despite not having left yet.
The bell rings on the door behind you, signalling a customers entry. “That’s my cue, keep up the hard work boys.” You take yourself to the door, and wave them both goodbye.
As you leave, Soda’s eyes trail after you remembering your sweet eyes underneath the brim of the cap he currently wears. It smells faintly of your shampoo, and he pulls it down tighter onto his head. He never wants to take it off.

Dally Winston:
Dallas Winston loves when you wear his clothes. He’s been very open about it in the past, and he isn’t shy about parading you around when you wear his things. Today though, he’s just a smitten boy, with endless teasing and flirting up his sleeve.
As of right now, Dally is leaning against someone’s car—something expensive looking that he probably shouldn’t be touching—with you in front of him, just glad to be there.
He is just about to ask you what you want to do when he sees a light shiver run over you, and despite the cold and dark exterior he’s curated, Dally instantly shrugs off his jacket. “You cold, hun?”
“I’m fine Dally. Don’t worry about me.” You try and brush it off but He’s already putting the jacket around your shoulders, layering you up against the chill in the breeze.
“Damn right you’re fine, that’s why I can never stop staring at ya.”
You laugh at his shamelessness, and put your arms into the sleeves of his jacket. It’s old and worn but it smells like him. Of smoke and earth. Like the scent you notice when rain hits the pavement.
“Well, look at you.” Dally is eyeing you up in his jacket, eyes scanning over every detail as if he’s memorising you for something later. “Looking good, baby.”
He’s got that shit-eating grin on his face, the kind that suggests he’s thinking about a lot of things he shouldn’t be. He puts his fingers through the belt loops of your jeans and pulls you closer, tucking his face into your neck and tickling you there with little bites and kisses.
“Aren’t we supposed to be doing something right now?” You struggle to get the words out when he’s distracting you like this, and he chuckles against your skin, sending vibrations through you.
“I am doing something.” He pulls back from your neck with one final kiss in the space under your earlobe. “You can join in if you want.”
His eyes move over you again, and his voice lowers “don’t know why I’ve never put this on you before.” He mumbles, adjusting the collar of his jacket on you. “You’re looking like my lady a little extra right now.”
You don’t really know what he means by it, but the way he says it makes your heart pound nonetheless. “I guess I’ve just never been all that cold before.” You shrug and the leather shifts on your shoulders.
Dally leans further back onto the car that isn’t his, practically sitting on the hood of the thing. He guides you to stand between his legs, and you stand over him, running your hands through his hair. He tries not to close his eyes at the touch, if only to keep looking at you in his clothes, but he’s not use to the kind of soft affection you give him. He’s not sure he ever will be.
“It’s comfy,” you say, looking down at the jacket you wear.
“Keep it.” He says it suddenly, and even though he loves the jacket, and it might be his favourite one, he likes it better on you.
“I can’t keep it Dally.” You protest, your hands placed firm on his shoulders. You squeeze gently, releasing some of the tension he holds there, and he slide his arms around your middle in appreciation.
“Yeah you can. I don’t care. Do what you want.”
“I’m not taking your jacket from you Dal, but I’ll wear it whenever you want if that makes you feel good.” You compromise, a cheeky grin sliding its way onto his lips as you do.
“That makes me feel real good sweetheart.”
A group of Soc’s walks past then, and Dally can’t help but show you off a bit, turning a little so if they look they can see what you’re wearing. It’s so clearly his by the way it fits on your frame and he wants them to know that.
They might have cash and fancy cars. Their houses might hold chandeliers and mahogany furniture, but Dally is richer than all of them combined with you by his side.
He moves his gaze away from the Soc’s that pass, turning back to you. He stands, sliding his hands around to your lower back underneath the jacket.
“Let’s go somewhere nice, huh?”
The way you’re looking at him, like he’s worthy of all the positive attention in the world makes his chest feel warm. “Anywhere is nice with you.” You say, and he’s surprised by just how badly he needed to hear that.
“Okay then, that gives us a lot of options.” The joke is light, as he starts walking with you toward nowhere in particular.
You lean into him, and he has to adjust the way he strides to accommodate for it, but he doesn’t mind one bit.
“I like wearing your clothes Dallas.” You say out of the blue, his full name taking him off guard. It sounds good when you say it though, not like the scolding way the cops call it out.
“You do huh? That’s good.”
“I like feeling like I’m yours.” You spill, deciding that if the world were to end tomorrow, you’d want him to know the little things like this.
Lucky for you, he wants to know those little things too. Dallas Winston is stone cold, tougher than most, but right now, walking through the streets that have never felt like home before—he’s in love.
