I want to go back to when all I heard about so-called AI was DALLE rendering a pixel astronaut. And they didn't even let you play with it so you had to trust them when they said the image came from a text prompt. And I thought, "huh. Sounds fake." And that it would go away like one of those quirky tech things you hear about sometimes, where they make the computer do something that has no real use. And eventually someone on Reddit would ask, "hey what happened to that DALLE thing?" and it would turn out that like Adobe bought it and couldn't figure out what to do with it. And we'd all get on with our lives never hearing about it again.
