Following a few non-stop days in London for ‘Frieze week’ I now start reflecting on what has been an eventful and fun few days. I’ve bumped into a lot of old friends, mostly whilst wandering the aisles of various art fair, galleries and auction houses, met some new people (artists, dealers, collectors, randoms) and seen a lot of art... a lot! Too much. If my feet hurt, my eyes hurt more 😉 . I’ve taken hundreds of photos and whilst I’ve shared some on my IG Story, I’ve not really had a chance to post any. I may do in the coming days but for now the last stop tonight was to view Dale vN Marshall’s new body of work at the Old Brompton Gallery, an artist who I came across nearly 10 years ago... since then I’ve become interested and bought work by quite a lot of artists, and subsequently sold and/ or lost interest in some of them for one reason or another, but not Dale. He’s an artist who’s not yet had the recognition he should have, but an artist with such dedication and the quality of his work rarely fails to shine through. Supported by Vanessa Brodrick, his new exhibition titled ‘The Edge Effect’ is on through to Sunday so if you’ve yet to get art fatigue or if you can’t quite muster up enough motivation to hit Frieze this year, I’d recommend a visit to the Old Brompton Gallery. I’m confident you won’t regret it... . Excuse the poor photos (mental note: it’s time to invest in a new phone!). .
