Getting Back Into Your Practice
Sometimes life is shitty and your spiritual practice doesn't take priority. Thats okay. Here are some tips for how to get back into your practice once you're feeling up for it.
Cleanse and Clean Your Space This is defiantly the first think you should focus your energy on. This can take as long as needed and as intensive as you want or feel is needed. Spiritual and physically cleanse your space. Pick up items, open windows and start your cleansing method of choice.
Redo Wards and Protections Once you've cleansed its important to redo your protection. Cleanse to get rid of, protect to keep it away. Even if nothing has *hit* your protections and wards, its important to keep up to date on them being energized.
Keep Actives Low on Spoons Now that you've done the basics, stick to low spoon actives and slowly build from there. Even if you feel super energized and ready to get into it- you want to take things slow. This'll help you from losing steam..
Slowly Add Back In Your Daily Practice This is totally unique person to person, but dont expect to be back into your multi step daily routine right away. Add in each step one at a time, or slowly so you wont feel overwhelmed.
Come Up with a Ritual Youre EXCITED About You want to focus on the parts of witchcraft you love. Do something you've always wanted to try, something you always love doing, or anything that will make you excited for the working.
Pick a New Topic, Not an Older One Getting into your practice and going to an older topic might feel disheartening. Pick a new topic like astrology, plants, or an aspect of witchcraft you havent gotten too into before. Then go back to the older topic you left on.
Do Some Divination on What You Need Right Now Spend time with your spirit team, deities or ancestors and figure out what you should be focusing in on right now. Maybe you need more rest, maybe theres a ritual they want you to work on.
Remember You Dont Have To Do Magic Daily Dont put too much stress into doing something every single day. Take breaks. Youre still a witch.
I hope these helped. Remember to take things slow and dont let the pressure of getting back into it weigh you down. Magic is suppose to help not hinder.

take your shoes off.
that's the first step and it's also most of the spell.
find somewhere outside — grass, dirt, sand, stone, it doesn't matter. stand with your feet flat on the ground. feel the temperature of it. the slight give of grass or the firmness of stone. the way the ground pushes back when you press into it.
that push back is the earth being solid under you. which it is. which it has been the entire time you were spiraling.
say out loud: "I am here. The ground is here. I am held."
stay for three minutes. don't fill the time. just feel the ground under your feet and breathe.
that's the whole spell. your nervous system was designed to regulate through contact with the earth. you're just letting it do its job.

'A Heart Is A Heavy Burden' emotional healing spell jar
Goldie's Guide to Witchcraft: A Tumblr grimoire for the masses
Hello everyone! Today I thought I'd share the recipe for a very soft, simple healing spell that I performed for an ex of mine. In my experience, this is great for healing deep emotional wounds that someone hasn't been able to face, getting someone to be comfortable confronting their emotions, or anything of that sort. Kinda Howl-esque if you think about it.
Ingredients
Fire safe dish
White candle
Jar
Beach sand: grounding, oceanic healing energy
Sugar: sweeten the experience
Clove: clear negativity
Pink carnation: soft healing
Rose: self love, love for life
Orange peel: happiness
Sunflower: bright outlook on life
Passionflower: soothe anxiety
Chamomile: soothe anxiety
Basil: renewal of hope
Tears: emotional release, healing (this was part of the original recipe, but I couldn't cry so I used moon water collected during The Pink Moon as a substitute)
Incantation
You can make up your own, but this is the incantation that I found to be successful.
" Hold the heart that has been hurt
Heal the hand that has been burnt
Cradle the wound that has always bled
Heal from which has made tears be shed "
My Process
Mix Beach sand and sugar, place this into the fire safe dish.
Carve an emotional healing sigil into the bottom of the candle. Put the candle into the sand sugar mixture, it should act as a base for the candle
Combine other ingredients into the jar and close lid/cork it. Place inside the fire safe dish in such a way where there is no way for the cork or glass to be touched by the flame
Chant the incantation with the person this being cast on (or yourself!) in mind. I like to add the person's name and birthday into it, and slip into an almost trance like state while chanting. This part is very intuitive, and at one point I just started talking about this person's emotional issues, how I intended the correspondences to work, personal things I knew them to struggling with.
[OPTIONAL] I am a hellenic polytheist, and prayed to Aphrodite, Apollo, and Hygiea for healing over this person and a calm road into that healing journey. I also called to the elements + the moon!
While closing out the spell, I specified that the energy put into it would begin to work on this person once I snuffed out the candle and promptly did so.
I keep this on my altar now with The Star tarot card underneath it! Funnily enough, I did this spell on a Wednesday since the Mercurial energies of communication were at play - and the next day this person broke no contact! The whole point of extinguishing the candle, by the way, is so that I can recast it weekly and continue boosting their energy. Now that I think about it, I think this could also be turned into a potion IF you exclude sunflower, carnation, and sand - maybe these could be replaced with edible herbs with similar correspondences?

I try to interact with the earth every day. Through plants, mostly, but also through the landscape and its inhabitants when they are around. It helps ground me. And helps me appreciate the world around me, which is especially helpful in winter when it's harder for me to see the beauty and goodness of nature.
And, ultimately, it's just bloody lovely. The colours, smells, sounds, the whole sensory experience is a joy!
