friendship duo / silva & dabby - s2friendship is so cool I wish the silvasaur s2 video was real. its hard to put my thoughts abt fsduo into words and feel like Im doing them justice because it's all so simple and yet so foundationally important to everything else here. they're the originals... the origin of it all... a lot of my thoughts abt dabby specifically kinda portray him as a sort of embodiment of team friendship and fsduo is not an exception to this. when silva left friendship squad originally she specifically called out dabbycat as being particularly affected. team friendship was silva's first failure. dabby was silva's first failure—a failure to fulfill her role as the protector. yknow how it is. silva talks about dabby like he's dead and it's really funny to me. 8bit duo / quakitus & rylan - while they occupy similar niches of The Hopeful Optimistic One in their friends' lives, the way they go about that is distinctly different enough for their characters to not feel same-y, and I think that was put on display really nicely with the little plotline of quakitus encouraging rylan to grow outside of the bounds of team friendship. quakitus is moreso changing for the better, while rylan is moreso retreating to the comfort of the past. I think this difference is in part because rylan has never really experienced any of the significant losses that quakitus has—rylan is one of the few people on the server with the inexperience (since he's been quite inactive) to still hold this naiive mindset, and quakitus is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum of experience as someone who has gone through multiple experiences like this. and yet they both still have hope in their hearts ^_^ it's nice

friendquest / rylan & dabby - speaking of rylan growing outside of team friendship. yeah that one isn't happening for as long as rylan is still in contact with dabbycat LMFAO it was really really funny watching one of those conversations happen with rylan and then the immediate next rylan stream had rylan straight back to the usual And Then We'll Bring Back Team Friendship business because he was yesmanning dabbycat. it's awesome. I love them. also, again, dabbycat-is-the-embodiment-of-team-friendship exhibit B; rylan is (obviously) very obsessed with the revival of team friendship and that is shown through his treatment of dabby. with the exception of like, one appearance for andromeda, every single time dabby has logged on recently has been solely because of rylan. that one time dabby visited tb island was because rylan solely brought dabby on because he thought it'd make silva happy. gestures vaguely. something something dabby is more of a symbol than a person

littlekitty duo / quakitus & dabby - ok this is going to be the most How Can I Make This About Silvasaur portion ever because frankly the most interesting part of their individual dynamic to me was that one off-handed silva comment of comparing quakitus to dabby. (also specifically lowkey calling quakitus a worse dabbycat? silva what do you mean "replacements can never be as good as the originals" immediately followed up by "you remind me of dabby". okay) and also frankly I havent seen them interact much on their own because of the whole. rylan carrying him around like an actual pet thing

flowerbuds / silva & rylan - #NEVERFORGET rylan was the first person to reach out to silva during isolation arc. in a similar way to 8bit I think, to silva, rylan represents that comfort of the past. that's probably why, during that time where silva was being really cagey around even q and stormz, she was still able to confide in rylan. rylan didn't expect anything from silva, a failure to show meaningful growth wasn't judged, because rylan is fine with silva just as is. which allowed silva a space to breathe before she could start gaining some of the will and confidence needed to start making steps towards change. as long as silva's happy, rylan's happy! and if that happiness doesn't include team friendship, then. ummmmmmmm
