Sunlight streamed in through the windows and warmed Dakotas already flushed skin as he laid beside Zac. The blankets ruffled and tangled in his legs as he had kicked them off to climb atop of Zac this morning to start his birthday off. His body ached in the best of ways and he now sunk into the mattress all relaxed and sated. He took this time to admire Zac further, drawing slow lines into his chest that morphed into words and into hearts and stars. A poem that only he knew was pressed into the warm body beneath his fingertips. He drew out many forms of 'I love you's and hoped that Zac couldn't tell from all the motions. His eyes marked the curve of Zacs jaw and the way the light reflected off of the hair on his head, making it look brighter. He wanted to run his fingers through it again. He was always taken by surprise when he looked at Zac. He was always more beautiful than the last time he saw him. Maybe it's because he looked at him through rose colored lenses or maybe it's because everything was heightened ten times more now that he had told Zac how he felt. Maybe it was just that Zac grew more beautiful with age. Either way, his boyfriend was breathtaking. Dakota turned his head once his head, pressing kisses to his boyfriends shoulder lazily. "Happy Birthday Zachary Williams." He grinned, now shifting to lay on top of him, resting his chin on his arms which lay on Zacs chest. "Officially twenty-seven, how do you feel?" He asked, just a bit in the teasing side but kept his tone soft. He pushed his hair back, curls wild from both sleep and early morning activities. He wanted to see Zac without his hair in the way. He was on vacation which meant he wasn't going to get up early to jog or do yoga, he could stay in bed with his love and not care about the rest of the world. Of course he'd stay in bed no matter where they were because it was Zacs birthday but the sentiment still applied for the rest of their vacation. "Are you free today or do you want to hang out with Flynn and Alexei for a bit?" He asked, biting his lip. Things were still a bit off between them since what happened in London and he was trying to get them back to normal. He reached a hand up, thumbing over Zacs cheek and settling on where he knew a dimple was buried. Dakota was doing his best to not be too clingy with Zac because of course they had lives outside of eachother. So he made sure not to plan anything in stone for the two of them in case Zac wanted to be elsewhere before the party on the yacht he was renting. He especially didn't want Zac to feel trapped with his clinginess after London. He took measures to not outright say the words to him so he didn't feel confined to the point where he needed to run. He knew zac hadn't been ready to hear the words, at least not under those circumstances so he wasn't quite sure when to say them. He had done his best to write words down to explain himself using a language that zac loved: poetry. "I've got gifts, wait here." He murmured then, leaning in to give zac a kiss and then pulling away to leave. He then thought better of it, one kiss not being enough even though he was only going across the room. He kissed him again, deeper this time, pressing his fingers to Zacs cheek. "Mmmm." He hummed before pulling away, his eyes still closed. "One more." He mumbled kissing him again. "Okay, be right back." He said against Zacs lips, pulling away from Zac and getting off the bed. The sheets fell away from his body, naked skin susceptible to the light air as he went to his suitcase. He was no longer embarrassed of his body around Zac as he has made it sing so many times. How could he be embarrassed when he had only just a little bit ago had been so unabashed with the way zac' hands had been on him. He hummed as he pulled out the journal and the poetry book with the bookmark saved on the page he wanted Zac to see first. He ran back to bed, jumping on and landing next to Zac. "Tadaaa." He presented the books to him, a blush only now covering his cheeks as he hoped zac would like his gift. There was no way he could top Zacs gift to him so he felt like maybe he could have done better but this is what he decided on. "If you um- if you already have that book you could just give it to Amy or something..." Dakota trailed off, cursing himself for not looking over Zacs collection of books more carefully. @itsonlyzac
