I totally get what you feel and I’d got annoyed too but still it’s hard to have an idea about anything not being exposed to it.
i guess it's just that instead of trying to understand something, they just get annoyed and disgusted by it? like they were talking about this girl as if she had something wrong with her and that she was an idiot for coming out? that's what I dislike... I mean, no wonder I'm so closeted about things with them? i'm nearly 25 and have only started coming to terms with my identity and sexuality recently, because when i was younger i was closer friends with these people who are now my housemates and other people like them including my ex boyfriend and whenever anything came up about me not being straight or being questioning everyone would laugh it off as if it were just something that was funny to talk about because it would be hot to put on a show for my boyfriend? YUCK. and so now it's like... I have to keep so much of myself hidden from them because i live with them and they're so very conservative, and i know, if they knew anything about my personal identity, they'd talk about it like I was some kind of freak? or make fun of me behind my back? or talk about me with other people who i'm not friends with anymore... i dunno... U.U I just hated the conversation cos when they first started talking about it I was thinking "Good on this girl, who, even though she's in a straight relationship, is brave enough to come out as queer! I wish I was that brave" and they immediately started basically shaming her and saying how stupid it was for her to come out and that she was probably just attention seeking.

anon - The zine is a book, so all of the pieces will be aligned the same way. Having a landscape oriented piece in a portrait oriented book is very cumbersome, so we are only accepting portrait oriented pieces! Sorry for the confusion, I thought that went without saying so I didn't make a note of it. I'll add a bit to the original post to clarify.
cygaj - Right now we don't know whether we'll be able to have bleeds, and we also plan on having a small uniform blank border around each piece anyways. I will make a post if we get any more information on that or if we change our plan, but it is pretty safe to say no bleeds.
