like those are SUCH the teams to possibly throw into the trench. if i ever wrote this i would definitely kill the moisties i think! it's fun and flavorful! and this au still comes with a side of "tyvi is alive and on a fireproof team" which is REAL NEAT. and in the end they still end up on the magic which is the team that is so very grudge against york and ALSO the flavor of the moisties having helped resurrect jaylen and subsequently hating her

so i've been on a kick lately about fairytale adaptations and what you keep and what you throw out. i actually spend a lot of my free time reading adaptations? they spark a lot of joy for me. (i was going to make a list of the good ones but unfortunately a lot of them include the threat of violence against women, particularly sexually in nature? so like, if anyone wants those, i can send it privately with adequate warnings but that isn't what this is, so!)
there's one book, it's. "the book of lost things" by john connolly. i read it when i was probably a little too young, but it takes a lot of fairytales and reworks and retells them, and i'm not sure how it holds up now but i've read it about eight or nine times over the course of my life and it started me down the road of seeking these kinds of stories out, so like. even if i'm not rereading it right now and can't attest to whether other people might enjoy it, it has had a huge influence on me and my preferences! and i loved it a lot when i was in high school. i still do in a nostalgic way. fairytale adaptations are important to me and i've read a lot of them but i've read this one the most and that means something.

i think the answer is still tot clark! although if i had to pick a guy i've written recently the cake goes to leif bug fables. sho minamimoto is ""fun"" to ""write"" and by that i mean i make up bullshit math metaphors all the time and say "zetta" a lot

trying to think of another one that's been published is HARD but. i do have an au of that jesús & york fic i wrote wrt the fifth base in which the fifth base is also giving jesús a little bit of a legendary complex? not in the same way but in the sense of. something is Wrong here but not in a way that anyone can put their finger on besides the Ghosts Who Can't Talk To Anyone Else (Besides Ghosts.) i did scrap that because it was not as fun to work with in longform format as opposed to like ask ficlets but (fondly) jesús and scorpler feedback loop of being supremely fucked up by the fifth base via possession i think about it
