There wasn’t a day that passed that Tao wasn’t watching Junhong. He watched the younger male head off to school and behind him as the student made his way home. Through snow and rain, Tao watched the younger in secret, smirking when he came home without anybody noticing him. And after everyday of following the younger, the neighbor would write down everything he could about the day from the boy’s clothing to incidents that happened along the way. He’s been doing this for over five months now.
The next day was when trouble hit Tao square in the face.
The kid was running late, literally running down the street to catch a bus and Tao frowned at the new turn of events. He hated buses. Despite being able to stare freely there were others who stared as well and therefore Tao couldn’t be staring so much. He debates for a second about not going, but he couldn’t. An addict needs his fixing. Drawn to the younger, he climbed up the stairs and took a seat two rows behind the student, making sure not to make eye contact as he passed by.
Sitting back against the hot leather-like material, feeling his legs tingle from the heat, he sighs to himself, annoyed. He can smell another one of his kind on the bus and with no doubt the other wanted him gone. His kind loves to prey on their victims on buses. Mainly because it was easy to get a routine down and stalk without much problems. Except for the obvious stares. Ignoring the other, Tao focused on his own prey, enjoying his scent when it passed by through the light breeze. The other noticed the scent too.
Within seconds, the vampire sat next to Junhong, faking a smile and leans back, pretending to read the newspaper. Immediately Tao sits up, ready to attack. After all the boy was his and it was clear this other was going to try to take him after months of stalking.
Thankfully the bus ride wasn’t long, stopping on the street near the school within ten minutes time and Tao followed the student out the bus door, glad to be away from the other vampire. He turned back just once to stare at the other, a warning, before following the boy until he couldn’t anymore. The black haired boy left to take care of some errands before sitting on the stoop of the school’s stairs, waiting for Junhong.
