Very exciting news today! Something a lot of people were actually asking for! Thanks to 'A Truly Outrageous Collection', our G2 Redo Classic Blank ponies and a small variety of eye gems will be available at @ukponycon this year!

We weren't able to have an official G2 Redo stall this year due to personal committments that weekend, but you will be able to find them for sale at A Truly Outrageous Collection's stall - which will be number 47 on the ground floor in the Collector's Cove area!

Answering some FAQ's!

- Are these ponies made from vinyl?

Yes! They are made from PVC and were rotocast in a factory to fully embody all the nostalgic features that make these toys what they are. The ponies are hollow, but firm with just the right amount of flexibility. I actually was extremely picky during the protoype phase to make sure the firmness of the vinyl was just right.

- Are they 3D printed?

Nope! They are rotocast in two solid parts from melted PVC. Soft vinyl is poured into a steel mold and spun around very fast so that the vinyl takes the shape of the mold.

- Are they articulated?

Yes! The head is a separate part that is both posable and detachable - making customisng a breeze.

- Are these like HQG1C ponies?

Yes I think that's a good comparison. During the early stages of this process I did speak Daniel the person behind HQG1C and he was extremely helpful and supportive. We are separate entities who have produced our ponies separately from different manufacturers but we share the common link of being invested in providing vintage inspired products for the pony community to enjoy.

- How can these ponies be customised?

Your imagination is the limit. The ponies have prepunched mane and tail holes for easy rooting in whatever colour you like. They can be dyed. Eye gems can be added to the eyes. They can be painted, sculpted onto, dressed up in new or vintage G2 accessories. Go wild!

- Where can I buy like, 100 of them, immediately? (No seriously please there is 1000 ponies in my house please buy them)

Everyone's responses on the last post really made me realise that news about this project has been super contained to the MLPTP forum, so let's change that!

The Project G2 Redo ponies are already produced and on sale - no waiting, no preorder, just close to 1000 ponies ready to ship for your next custom pony!

I began discussing this idea on the MLPTP forum in 2022 and it's been a really interesting journey since then. Like many others, I felt a sense of guilt and sadness when considering using a genuine vintage toy for a custom project when they are becoming increasingly rare and are precious to so many collectors. I really wanted to have an option available that meant expanding my G2 collection to include ponies from other generations in the G2 style, my own original creations, and even just something to experiment techniques on without 'ruining' a genuine vintage pony. Discussion, funding and mostly a long production process took 3 years and several rounds of prototyping. They were finally delivered in June this year, a process which I did document with the hopes of sharing the whole story here!

Let me tell you there is no feeling like seeing 1000 ponies (and 3 years of work) be unloaded from a van and delivered!
