How to smile: What is a perfect smile: Duchenne Smile: a genuine smile involving the muscles of eyes and face. -muscles involved: zygomaticus major muscle (lifts corners of mouth), orbicularis oculi (raises cheeks) and laugh lines on the outer corners of eyes.
Why do I need to learn how to smile? -smiling improves appearance, and it makes me cute :D -improves trustworthiness -smiling improves connection with other people, in a world full of digital interactions -maintaining positive facial expressions during stress can allay part of the stress :D
1. Practice smiling in front of the mirror: -take selfies of yourself, around 5 -evaluate the smiles that you like and imitate them infront of the mirror -practice until muscle memory 2. Posture: -sit tall and smile to avoid having double chin when smiling. 3. Dental Hygiene: Brush your teeth and tongue regularly, flossing after meals. -teeth coloration: smoking, black tea, red wine, soft drinks -bad breath -drink more water: helps the production of saliva that cleanses the mouth 4. Think of something positive and happy before smiling: -in your mind, run through a list of 5 random things that you find grateful / cute / memes / extremely funny / list of people that you love -in general, a good smile comes from someone that is optimistic and cheerful. Even if you are not, focus on the good things of live. Eventually this becomes a habit too. -when dealing with toxic situations, think of something good in it and smile. 5. Make smiling a habit: Cue: when you see someone Routine: SMILE WIDE Reward: The person smiles back, encourage yourself that you did well 6. Smiling for a camera: smile only millisecond before the shot to ensure that your face muscles don’t get tired. -smile harder than you think you should -place the tongue on the roof of your mouth to tighten the muscles in your face and neck to make the smile more natural
