Hello. I’ll keep this short. I’ve seen several reposts this week without artist’s credit. In at least two cases, the artist’s watermark/signature was deliberately removed from the image.
That wonderful Shakespeare piece I reblogged today? That was stolen art. I’ve removed it from my blog. The artist SPECIFICALLY says on their twitter that they don’t want their art reposted (without permission).
Original artist posted it here (X).
Uncredited repost here (X). (I doubt permission was given, as there wasn’t even an artist credit.)
A new school year has begun. Traditionally this used to mean a lot of new people who needed education in how to behave themselves online. Looks like that may still be true.
Someone on tumblr has taken the time to gather together information on HOW NOT TO BE A DICK with respect to art online. Read and learn here:

I was working on a post about an artist on instagram who has created quite a bit of really nice Good Omens fanart. It would have included links to all of their pieces so far. Now I’m not sure that’s a good idea. Will that just encourage more irresponsible reposting? I’ve already seen two or three reposts of their art here this summer; I don’t want to be responsible for more.
