Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1 cup buttermilk. 1/2 cup sour cream.
Instructions: Start by heating the oven to 350F 175C. You can line a cupcake pan with paper liners. Whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl. Mix the butter and sugar in a different bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. Adding the eggs one at a time and mixing them in is the next step. In thirds, add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing in the buttermilk and sour cream each time. Start with the dry ingredients and end with them. The batter should be about two thirds of the way up each cupcake liner. It's done when a toothpick stuck in the middle of a cupcake comes out clean after 18 to 20 minutes of baking. After the cupcakes have cooled in the pan for a few minutes, move them to a wire rack to cool all the way down. Once it's cool, frost it and decorate it however you like.
