An Alliance Forged
Jedi Knight, Ahsoka Tano has been captured by the Fett gang, a notorious group of bounty hunters she's been chasing down for years. But it turns out, the brig of their ship might be exactly where she needs to be.
Set in an AU where Jango escaped with the clones before the Battle of Geonosis. His actions threw a wrench in Palps' plans and the "Clone Wars" became a cold war with minor unofficial skirmishes between jedi and separatist forces. In the meantime, the Fett family has been trying to find ways to take down Palpatine but have been thwarted by Jedi along the way, particularly one Obi-Wan Kenobi and his chaotic lineage.
"So, padawan Tano-"
"It's Knight now, actually."
"Right," Rex sighed impatiently, "Knight Tano then, do we have a deal?"
The Jetii crossed her arms and leaned back, regarding him suspiciously, "You realize that you're asking me to assist a horde of criminal bounty hunters who've been an absolute skank in the scudpie for three years, in the assassination of the head of the Republic which I've sworn to protect, committing not only murder, but treason as well?
"I'm asking you to help me to execute a Sith Lord who's been playing you and the rest of the galaxy like a game of sabaccc since this whole war started!" he returned with such earnestness in his honey brown eyes that it was frightening.
"And you expect me to believe you?" she prodded him.
"Would you still be here if you didn't?"
The Lady Tano's heart skipped a beat.
"Fair point," she sighed resignedly and subsequently deactivated the energy shield which until then had acted as a cell door, "Alright Rexter-"
"It's Rex."
She waved her hand dismissively, "You've got yourself a jedi." And by ways of proving it, the two clasped each other's wrists in a hearty handshake.
"Now tell me," she inquired, as they set off down the hall at an easy pace, "You have one jedi on your side, but how are you planning on getting past the rest?"
"Already got that covered," he said, and winking mischievously at her, "My brothers and I will take care of it."
The jetii nodded thoughtfully, counting up in her head the dozen or so armor-clad figures they'd passed in their short walk toward the bridge.
"How many brothers do you have?" she finally asked, as they approached the elevator and at least 10 more spilled past them. She'd known there were many Fetts, but even in her worst confrontations with them, she'd never seen so many in one place.
"I'd say a million or so," he answered truthfully and got a mirthful sense of satisfaction in the way her eyes went wide as saucers while the elevator door closed behind them
