I've said this once and I'll say it again,

I want to see Shen mentor a student/resident, or have him interact with the other night shift crew (crus, nazely, mateo, etc).

Ok let me explain myself here

I want to see more of how he handles certain cases as a mentor rather than just an attending if that makes sense. Will his teaching methods be more hands-on like he did with Mel in s1, or will it depend on the case and who he's working with? Will he ever lose his cool if the student isn't coordinating? How would he handle the situation if it ever goes south/not according to plan? Anyway I just want to see him in more cases, we never really had the opportunity to actually see him in action as he's usually just acting as support or off to the side rather than a leading figure. I just want to see him assert himself for once 🙂‍↕️

As for the other crew I think it'd be interesting to see if his idgafer front ever wears off when it comes to specific people. I wanna see if he changes his attitude/personality based on the person and his relation with them. Him with Robby and Abbot he's pretty laid-back but gets the job done and really gets through to them when it comes to discussing cases and patients, but banter is kind of tense with Robby and we haven't seen much humorous interactions with Abbot. With Ellis they both seem to share a singular malicious braincell like conjoined evil twins and stick side-by-side and banter goes really smoothly between them. I REALLY wanna see how he goes along with Crus, as they both seem to be lively in their own ways and I think they would mix together really well. Same goes with Mateo as they both have that nonchalant and confident personality, their joint nonchalance would probably destroy the whole department. Shen's personality is really versatile and I want to see it in action so bad

This prolly won't make sense but. Shen experiencing severe disassociation and sudden lack of interest in what he was previously fixated/orientated on ever since West got deployed to Korea. He and West being so attached to the hip before separation that Shen has subconsciously started to be dependent; not overly so, but enough that his emotions and habits revolve around West a little too much.

Shen who couldn't let go of West when he was about to leave—begging for him to stay while his mind raced with what he could've done differently so they didn't have to part ways, hoping that this wouldn't be the last time they see each other, or at least make it out alive. Shen who couldn't focus on his job in the ED and constantly daydreaming just to avoid showing the cracks in the calm mask that he wears that's actively under pressure, desperately trying to cling onto what's left of his dignity, morals, and knowledge. He can treat patients, yes, but leave him alone for too long and he'll start pulling himself down into the hole he's dug himself too deep.

The thing that really makes his chest tighten is that West left a lot of his belongings in their shared apartment; only taking what was needed, leaving Shen more of him. Having Shen come home to an empty, unmade bed with West's laundry still neatly folded where he's supposed to lay his head that Shen didn't dare touch, with blankets that they used to fight over with West's scent slowly fading away, framed pictures of both of them together lied face-down on their nightstand because Shen couldn't stand seeing his face anymore without spiraling.
