This series is meant to offer a small glimpse into the full spectrum of life as a diagnosed DID system. We do our best to ensure that all readers can fully consent to what they view.
This post is marked as: Heavy, and content warnings include: NSFW, discussion of AgeRegression, and frustrations with mis-tagging and cross-community issues involving ABDL.
As a system with sys-kids, SFW regressors (age & pet), and NSFW pets, we often find it much harder to find people who genuinely see regression as SFW (non-ABDL) and understand how to care for mentally and emotionally complex people.
We’ve become pretty independent and self-sufficient when it comes to coping in healing mindsets or letting sys-kids take front. Still, due to our complexities, we (as a collective) naturally wish for an external babysitter or caretaker at least sometimes.
Both regression and caretaking are supposed to be therapeutic headspaces, but finding compatibility within the community can be very difficult, and cross-community misinformation about SFW regression doesn’t make it any easier.
ABDL / Age Play is, and always has been, something that should only happen within the bedroom between two consenting adults. No matter how you spin it, if you identify as a “little sub” and try to bring yourself into spaces where minors (whether mentally regressed or bodily the age of) are present, you are reproducing the same harm that others have caused.
Not to mention, The term “Little” is medically recognized for actual IRL children and sys-kids within plurality. Just because something is between consenting adults does not make it safe or moral. In order to reclaim power using it, professional therapeutic guidance is required. Keep your fetishes in spaces where they belong, away from minors.
I digress...
Everyone has different emotional and mental limits to what they can handle. Being a severely empathic person with BPD, our emotions come in batches; if we can’t handle ourselves sometimes, it’s likely others won’t either. Many people have swore they could handle us even with pre-warning, and proved us right when they couldn’t.
We try our best to do “trial runs,” but even that is sometimes too much. So, when something happens while we’re self-caring in a fragile mindset and the people around us find out and get upset because we didn’t come get them… well, it’s self-evident why that occurs.
