Chris Sanders To Be Given Winsor McCay Award At Annie Awards, 2026.
ASIFA-Hollywood today revealed the nominees for the 53rd Annie Awards (annieawards.org), covering the yearâs greatest artistic achievements across animated feature films, shorts and series as well as visual effects and video games. The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at UCLAâs Royce Hall.
The Winsor McCay Award in recognition of lifetime or career contributions are being presented to Annie Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated writer/director Chris Sanders (Walt Disney Animation Studios "Mulan," "Lilo & Stitch franchise", Dreamworks Animation "How To Train Your Dragon" franchise, "The Croods", "The Wild Robot") for his contributions to the animation industry.
Sanders is currently developing a sequel to "The Wild Robot" at Dreamworks Animation and is set to pen the script for "Lilo & Stitch 2" at Walt Disney Studios as his second live-action project.
watching both the Croods movie back to back is kind of a wild experience.
cuz like the end of the first movie and where the second one starts is such a stark contrast. Why are the croods back in their og outfits when they were wearing completely different things at the end of the first movie?? And why are there so many mischaracterizations throughout??
Grug should not be a bumbling idiot. Heâs a competent father and leader, and he can adapt when needed. Plus he already did the stupid âI donât want Guy with Eepâ thing in the first movie! He shouldnât be all mad again! If you want him to worry about them leaving, at least write it differently! His character destruction is almost as bad as Ralph Breaks the Internet tbh
Speaking of Guy and Eep, that fire making scene at the beginning was so dumb. as established in the first movie, fire does not require two people to make! Guy could very easily just make the fire and then be all flirty or whatever with Eep. But the flirtiness is so over the top itâs not in character for them. Guy would not tell Grug to âchillâ. other than that wdk thereâs just something off about Guy.
ngl thereâs a lot of dumbing down the Croods in this movie. They arenât stupid! Eep acts like she doesnât know shit at times even though sheâs very smart in the first movie. Maybe naive, but not dumb. The Thunk-window gag was kinda funny the first time but after that it gets slightly annoying. Gran is just. weird. Thatâs fine but we kinda wish we got a little sprinkle of Thunder Sisters in the first movie.
We know itâs just a kids movie or whatever, but we just had to express our opinion on this.
everyone needs to shut the fuck up because those stupid rhymes with grug memes made me watch croods (for the first time for me) and I only have one word:
SMASH
that is all thank you for coming to my ted talk
