Over the past few months Damon had gone from intolerable, to tolerable to actually –– a friend. A good friend. Which was something she honestly never expected when first meeting him. And ironically what had really brought them together was Stefan leaving with Klaus. It was clear to anyone with eyes and ears that Elena spent most of her time with Damon these days. Stefan was... not completely back to normal. His hatred for Klaus had taken over his entire life, and the only thing he thought about or even cared about was making sure Klaus had paid for everything he’d done to him. The chance for revenge had absolutely consumed him.

Walking in the front door of the Salvatore mansion she spotted Damon heading down the stairs. Just the vampire she wanted to see. She’d debating telling him about this or not, but a part of her felt like he’d find out regardless and she’d save herself a long lecture if she told him her plans.

                         “Hey,” she said walking up to him as he stepped onto the first floor,  “I came to show you this. It’s tonight –– and I’m going. I thought you should know.”
