Sushi Donuts are a creative twist on traditional sushi rolls. They are easy to make and perfect for sushi lovers who enjoy a unique presentation. These donuts are not only delicious but also Instagram-worthy!
Ingredients: 2 cups sushi rice. 4 sheets nori seaweed. 1/2 cup rice vinegar. 1/4 cup sugar. 1 teaspoon salt. Assorted sushi fillings e.g., avocado, cucumber, smoked salmon, crab sticks. Soy sauce for dipping. Pickled ginger and wasabi optional.
Instructions: Prepare sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool. In a small saucepan, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat until sugar and salt dissolve. Let it cool. Cut nori sheets into quarters and brush each piece with the vinegar mixture. Place a plastic wrap on a flat surface and put a small bowl of water nearby. Wet your hands to prevent sticking. Take a handful of sushi rice and press it into a donut shape on the plastic wrap. Add your desired sushi fillings in the center of the rice donut. Fold the nori pieces around the rice and fillings, creating a donut shape. Seal the edges with a dab of water. Repeat the process for more sushi donuts with different fillings. Serve the sushi donuts with soy sauce for dipping and optionally, pickled ginger and wasabi. Enjoy your homemade Sushi Donuts!
