Psyched about this #ecological #farm El ParaĆso in #Vinales and while admiring the view weāre daydreaming with Teresa @thaira.music that we could get a small hut here for our ācreative escapesā from #Havana and grow our #organic veggies & fruit, and mostly raise own #chicken because the only šI see in the stores here are hormone overdosed āBig chicksā from Canada, US & Brazil so I never buy them and never order them in restaurants. Your best bet to eat āorganicā or closest to natural meat in Cuba is probably locally raised pork. Last time I went to a market, I even asked our butcher if š· are treated with love & respect here (so I can eat them without a guilt, lol) and he confirmed it to me in my own language. Turns out, heās another Cuban that was working in #Czechoslovakia during #socialism. Damn, thereās so many Cubans that understand #Slovak & #Czech, that I canāt even consider it as a ācamouflageā language in this country anymore. You never know if thereās a āspyā sitting next to you when you share your cuban life frustrations with your fellow Slovakian friends over a beer on #Malecon. But back to pork - Itās so good here (or weāre with Teresa just such a damn good cooks) that our #Muslim friends from Morocco didnāt want to believe that theyāre eating pork when we cooked for them during their visit. Well, I think itās better to be a Muslim than a vegan in Cuba (what I tried & failed fast), because God will definitely forgive you for eating pork in #Cuba, since there is not much choice and he āloves us unconditionally no matter what we eat or who we love anyways :) But your #vegan or #vegetarian friends would most likely not be so understanding if you admit you sinned with #rice & #beans & #PORK. Itās almost as bad as when a #lesbian admits she slept with a man. I heard somewhere that itās like a betrayal of the community š Anyways, itās probably more of a wishful thinking for us to become #farmgirls, as weāre not really #gardening types and weāre glad that we keep our 2 #cactuses alive in #Havana so short getaways like this are just perfect! ER Story #1: Ceiling Patient
In the ED, when a patient is 1. gravely disabled 2. of danger to self or 3. of danger to others, they are placed on a 5150 hold. This means that the patient is officially under medical care for 72 hours. This particular patient was on a hold for danger to self. At one point, she asked if she could go to the restroom. Security escorted her to the bathroom and let her do her business in peace. The patient climbed up onto the toilet, and pushed up on a ceiling. She managed to hoist herself up into it. As she was crawling away, she fell through the ceiling and crashed into the the room next to the bathroom. Ironically, this was the psychiatric social workerās room. When the patient finally stood up again, she bowed as if she was finishing a performance.
