A LETTER FROM THE SHIELD
For days, you have left me to battle exhaustion. Fatigued. Every ounce of energy, depleted.
When will my savior arrive? My food, vanished. My water is plenty, though unsafe to drink. My staff, a gift from my mentor, broken.
I write this letter to you, in dire need of aid. I am unsure if this letter will be received by anyone. Who cares? My frustration only finds solace in these letters that my aching hand scrawls. I’ll continue to draft these letters until my days conclude.
I can’t push on. I yearn for my family, my home. I’m lost in time. I feel my humanity slipping away.
Despite the physical toll that aches my body, perhaps my mind can endure. If I escape from this wretched place, I shall have a new beginning. One far superior than any past I’ve lived.
